Require users to send an apology to those they have reported if ban is overturned
If a user reports someone, and the user is later banned and the ban is then overturned by Steam Support, the user (or users, if multiple reported) should be required to apologize to the user they reported for wasting everyone's time.

Nah, I wouldn't want their fake apology anyways.

What should happen is the people who report should be the ones banned, especially for falsely reporting someone.

This seems more like a parody of this thread

To address this suggestion, I will have to say no. All this will do is give the affected user a reason to target and harass the user who reported them.

Bans can also be overturned for being excessive, rather than incorrect, which is not the fault of the user who reported them.

So again, no.
Only if I get an apology for every thread you have made or will make.

Why would the one reporting need to apologize? Moderators process the reports and issue the bans. Support overturning the decision of a moderator has nothing to do with the one who reported the content.

Support overturns bans for many reasons. A ban being overturned does not mean it was wrong in the first place. Sometimes Support does it because they've been told to give second chances.
How about you stop breaking the rules so often and then users won't feel a need to report you?

Also OP it sounds like you just want to be able to harass users because they report you.

Let it be anonymous then.
You're really asking users to issue an apology because a moderator screwed up and wrongly issued a ban that was overturned by Support?

The user has no blame there.

I follow the rules.

I follow the rules.
Nah. Have you sent apology letters to Steam Support?

All I can say is it's amazing how some users can totally miss the point of this platform, just because they get upset for being moderated.

Yeah? What's the point of this platform?
This would not impact me at all as I only report posts that are clear rule violations. The rules are obvious and easy to follow after all, so identifying rule violations accurately is quite simple. Sad to see Valve has yet to master it.
Only if the ban is removed due to it being wrongly applied and not because support just wants the ticket to go away. And only if the opposite is true. If you are temporarily banned you can only come back once you have posted a public apology to the community.

I wish people would stop spreading this misinformation. If they want the ticket to go away they just temp ban you from support tickets. Multiple people have tested this. It is just the "undercover mods" idea but in reverse.

It's basic logic. if it was really in error then valve would have at some point taken steps to clarify it. When the same people keep getting banned repeatedly it becomes clear.
