Idea: Partial Checkout from the Steam Cart — Moving Beyond the “All or Nothing” System (ENG/RUS)
ENG: Currently, the Steam cart works on an “all or nothing” basis: if you add 5 games but only want to buy 2, you have to manually remove the extras and then add them back later. This is inconvenient and outdated.

Usually, the cart is where games for the first priority go — the ones you actually want to buy soon without postponing. But sometimes, the budget only allows for part of that first priority list, and it’s not possible to buy everything at once.

The Wishlist doesn’t really solve this — it’s more suited for long-term saving rather than quick, selective purchases. Moving games back and forth between the cart and the Wishlist just adds unnecessary steps.

On many marketplaces like Amazon or AliExpress, this issue is already solved: you can select which items from your cart to purchase, while the rest stay in the cart or are saved for later.

It would make sense for Steam to introduce:

Checkboxes next to each game in the cart.

A “Purchase Selected” button.

An option to temporarily postpone items directly within the cart.

This would make shopping much more flexible and user-friendly, especially during big sales or when sticking to a limited budget.

When you put something in your cart, that means you have full intent to buy it.

If you don't intend to buy it right then, then put it on your wishlist.

When the wishlist consists of 1-4-10 hundred games: it is not very convenient. And some of them are interested right now. But there is no way to buy them.

Still doesn't change the fact on what the cart is for.
If your not going to buy something now, then don't put it in your cart.

I agree! Especially when the wishlist consists of "someday" games and "right now" games appear, separate payment is a very cool solution.

If you take mostly indie h:steammocking:ntai sheat for the price of a burger and coke combo, that's just your problem (or fetish). When it comes to AAA or just games for guys who are worth a lot, there are a lot of them and different priorities = such a "must have" system.

No offense, but I don't think you have a problem with that.:sweatyeye:

Not here. Not on this account.
