Playtest random acces is garbage
I will never understand how it is possible that the longer I am registered on a playtest, the less I would have the chance to obtain access .

At some point, how about giving access chronologically.

I love doing my games prospections many times in advance. But it pisses me off to hear people getting access for asking a week before the test when you asked since the first trailer...and don't get the access

Take this up with the game developers
It’s not the developers who decide... They may be able to spin a limited number of keys (alpha, beta) here and there but nothing more. It’s Steam that decides that

Random is Random

Random doesn't "suck" because you don't win the lottery
I get often acces but I still find the random thing is not the best way
Random makes it impartial.
That way no one can claim someone got access via favoritism or paid for access.

Random is fair, you have to recall others experience the exact same and fair outcome.

Game developers can generate 50,000 (or 500,000? I can't remember) Steam keys for their playtest, no questions asked.

If they use the "add this many random players from this region" feature as opposed to just letting everyone in or sending out keys, they're doing that by their own choice.
I think I read that it’s 50000 accesses after that depends maybe on the developers and the size of the game and its hype. Look, for example, at Arc Raiders which probably had more than 50000 accesses, some of which are off the waiting list (including me).

I remain of the opinion that it is the first who ask who should have access as in a banal shop, we stand in line.

The aleatory precisely makes it so that if you want to make someone sneak past the other, well that works...

But well, they’re going to call me a conspirator. Even though we say it’s to avoid that third-party sites like kinguin and co do not sell these accesses well I can understand but otherwise it’s just not correct.

We’re not in a lottery to win money, we’re in a queue to test a game

There is no limit if they're not doing it via Steam keys. If they are doing it via Steam keys, Valve is likely to give them more keys if they request them and aren't doing something shady. 50,000 is just the number of keys you're guaranteed to be able to get for a playtest app.
