Discussion vote system

hi

we all have encountered a topic that is jester farming or just doesn't great good debates/discussions, like the famous "is this game woke" or "please add representation", while they don't break steam rules they tend to not be good topic.

moderators can't be everywhere (how do you even become one) and so I propose an upvote/downvote option, if a topic get for exemple minus 10 score for a day it gets locked automaticaly and/or a moderator can unlock/lock the topic seeing that it isn't popular, while jester awards tend to point to a downvote system (seen a post with 15 on it and endless arguments slash trolling).

that's the idea, what is you're opinion on this ?

One problem is people with a bzillion alternate accounts can abuse this system so bots would rule the forums.

Sounds like an easy way to set up automation to lock any topics by users I dislike.

Moderators are not reading threads and posts. You see something that is off topic or violates forum rules and guidelines. Then report the thread or post, and move on. Let the mods worry about it.

I vote no. See, works fine as is without a pole/vote scheme.

I find the “is this game woke?” threads invaluable and have made some myself, if I am considering purchasing a game I want to know of it contains real world extremist views with ties to terrorism etc, especially if it’s something I am considering letting my kids play. The best advice I can give is not to click on these threads if you find them upsetting or it gets you emotional.

Such questions ultimately pertain to whether or not a character who is not a CIS, white male is depicted in a piece of art. By entertaining them, you are reinforcing white supremacist ideologies. Do better.
