No thank you. We would then have to put up with people complaining about how they were "hacked" and their games were all reset.

If you want to start off brand new, create another Steam account.

The feature exists but its dev choice to implement it.

The workaround is to create a new account and add it to your Steam family group (make one if needed). You can then replay said game from scratch via family share.
You can manually delete your saves. You want a reset on all the cheevos?

They do that anyway when their items are stolen. It would not increase the amount of complaints.

Do you loose all your games?
not lose your games, just like a reset option for the data you made in the game, like all that progress and stuff

Game devs can offer this for their games. Everything but play time.

There's a 3rd party mod for steam called "steam achievement manager" which is allowed, as far as I know. It allows you to manually choose which achievements are earned. It can be used to reset your achievements.

i'll start using that
You can also use Steam’s built-in console for this. You can access the console by typing
Steam://open/console
in the address bar of a web browser and clicking Open when prompted. The command to reset Achievements and Stats is
reset_all_stats <appid>
.
