a small notice for games incompatible with Windows 11
I wish Steam would have a small warning to some games that are not yet compatible with Windows 11 for everyone who upgraded their OS or gaming rig only to have many of their games unable to launch.

Which games are incompatible with Windows 11?

:nkCool:
Fortunately when i upgraded from Win 7 to 11, i only lost all but one game. It was only a few dollars, and better on PS2 anyway.

But altogether with the older games i have, i'm happy to see all of them working on Win 11.

Sorry to see you may have a different experience.
Not working under windows 10 or any of the compatability modes? That's new

Project Zomboid
Citiy's skylines
Stellaris
Hearts of Iron 4.

Alternate launch options won't work and I tried many remedies including verifying game files to disabling windows defender

Under the "Help" tab in the Steam client, there is an option for displaying system information about your PC in a big text log. Can you copy that information and paste it here, so that we can help you check if there are any potential problems there; maybe there's something about your system you've overlooked?
A lot of the games you mention should be able to run on Windows 11 without any problems, since Windows 10 is essentially no different.

Those titles are all pretty famous. Those games have around 100 000 to 300 000 reviews each.
If it didn't work on Win11 it would have that many positive reviews.

Something is wrong on your end and it's not Win11.

With the exception of Hearts of iron, I have the other 3 games and they run fine on windows 11, no kind of tweaking and what no.

Cities Skylines and Stellaris run fine on Windows 11, I had to do nothing except launch them as normal.

When I launch city skylines. It would say running but the launcher would never open and I had to close it ar task manager just to fix the issue. I'm not sure if its with paradox launcher v2 or my PC

Most likely your PC, since there is no real mention of a widespread issue with the game on Windows 11.

Just like when Defiance stopped working on my Windows 10 machine, but worked fine on my Windows 7 machine. The issue wasn't the game nor Windows 10. It was my machine.

the top 2 of those games, i own and play... on win 11 pro (24h2, noting, my cpu isnt supported, but it supports popcnt and the mobo only has tpm 1.2).

btw win 10 and 11 are basically the same, they run the same kernel and they share most of the same code, its only features (mostly security nonsense), the useless "hardware requirements" and the name..., being the difference between the 2.

the issue is on your end..., its likely runtimes, direct x, a program causing issues, or something similar.

go to the guides section and look up the 3rd party launcher bypass.

i have no issue running their launcher (unless they did something to break it, after i started bypassing it), but i have no reason to use it, just like the others.

good luck, have fun and have a nice day

Project Zomboid 100% works on Windows 11, so it sounds like an issue with your PC. I suggest you post on the games forum for help in troubleshooting why its not working for you
