How To Stop Censorship By 3rd Party Companies
Given the present state of gaming and the flood gates of censorship by force of the payment processors, its time we as gamers begin discussing solutions that stop this blight ahead of time.

I recommend adding CASH ONLY kiosks at retailers (Or maybe something similar to an ATM if retailers will not agree to allow the kiosk).

Step 1) Create a kiosk with wireless communication capability and a QR code reader.
Step 2) Assign a unique QR code to every Steam account that the kiosk can scan to begin the transaction
Step 3) Scan your personalized QR code from the Steam app on your phone. The kiosk displays minimal information of your account so as to protect client account privacy and asks you to confirm it is your account. At the same time a confirmation appears on your phone (Think like pairing Bluetooth for example)
Step 4) Confirm on both screens that it is you and the computer will ask what amount you would like credited to your Steam account. (Equal dollar denominations only; no change saves space necessary for the location)
Step 5) Input the amount you want credited to your account (Example: $86), which the kiosk will then ask you to confirm
Step 6) Select OK and a small cash door will open. Place your cash into the door (In this case $86).
Step 7) The machine counts the money and credits it to your account, and a receipt is sent to a "folder" within steam in the event you should need the transaction information for any reason.

This would reiterate to payment processors that their purpose is strictly to process payments, not to police digital content. They can cease the censorship, or they can become obsolete.

and steam should buy ATMs with limited customer reach in 190 countries?

No sane customer would drive hundreds of kilometers to get to such to be able to buy games.

Your infrastructure is basically unprofitable. Not to mention, that all those collected money still need to be processed by banks.

I think all of these suggestions miss the point. Steam isn't pulling games based on how people pay for them. They're pulling games based on what Visa or Mastercard find objectionable. They aren't going to make certain games available only through certain payment methods. Visa and Mastercard are basically saying "You can't use our services if you provide certain games", not "we won't let you use our services for certain games".

Right, do you have any clue what it would cost to do worldwide.
That was just one flaw with it, there a plenty more.

Sorry but your idea is impractical and ridiculous imo.

The best and only solution is remove said content and done.

Exactly.

Also, if the literal only reason a hypothetical Valve is doing this is to get around rules against selling pornography games primarily about non-consensual sex, I don't think very many stores would be happy about having those ATMs advertise that inside their place of business.
You are all missing the larger picture.

If you dont nip it in the bud it is just a matter of time before they say "We dont like violence in video games. Get rid of titles like GTA, Ready or Not, Call of Duty... And while youre at it we also feel that games that promote drug use should not be distributed so you should also remove titles such as Schedule 1...."

Hence why I said PREEMPTIVELY come up with solutions because as we all know if you give an inch they take a mile
Plus isn't it funny how they have no problem processing payments for adult sites that kids constantly lie to access, but yet STEAM is the problem? Make it make sense.

Seems then that would be something to bring up with credit card companies.

There's more chances of Steam completely closing the porn store over them investing in worldwide steam-kiosks.

People won't listen dude. I've noticed the video game industry declining for over a decade now and it is entirely the fault of gamers. Many love to place the blame on greedy company executives for all sorts of f@ckery. But at the end the day the vast majority of gamers are enabling such behaviours by continuing to help keep these companies afloat with their money.

And by the time that most gamers grow a brain and realise what is happening (if that ever happens) it will be too late.

Gamers get the video game industry that they deserve

Not everything is a bud to nip. Disagreeing with Visa/MC doesn"t mean you can actually do anything but grumble.

The problem with your concern is you assume an infinite downward spiral of censorship. Thay stops being realistic after a point.
