Add Installment Payment Option for High-Priced Games on Steam
Hi Steam Team,

I’d like to propose a feature that could benefit both users and developers: the option to purchase high-priced games through installments on Steam.

As game prices continue to rise—especially for deluxe editions or bundles that can exceed $70 to $100—many users find it financially difficult to purchase them all at once. An official installment payment system, limited to higher-priced titles (e.g., games over $60), would make these titles more accessible while maintaining value for developers and publishers.

This option could work through partnerships (e.g., with PayPal, bank installments, or a Steam-specific wallet system), and users who choose installments would receive access to the full game once all payments are complete—or even gradually, depending on the model Steam sees fit.

Benefits:
Makes premium games more financially accessible

Encourages more sales for expensive titles

Adds value for loyal Steam users

Keeps Steam competitive with platforms already offering flexible payments

Thank you for considering this idea. Steam is already a leader in digital gaming, and this could be another step forward in user experience and inclusivity.

Best regards,

Get a piggy bank instead. Neither Valve nor any game dev/publisher would accept the risk of defaults and bankruptcy.

That is what a credit card it made for.
PayPal already has a payment plan like this.

Banks also have this. It's called a credit card.
