FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CAN YOU START BEING CONSISTENT WITH THE REVIEW RATING TOOLTIPS
Not seeing any proper feedback section so just going to leave this here, this is specifically for steam devs.

So this is an issue I've been noticing repeatedly over the years and somehow it still has not been addressed.....I've lost my patience.

Sure it may come off harsh but guess what, no one in the world likes having their time wasted FOR YEARS with a broken, inconsistent product, especially when it's one of the core features of the platform and it should've been addressed long ago and something any beginner designer/developer should've noticed immediately.

But this is meant as constructive criticism, not meant as a personal attack, I don't care for that and I don't care for getting into any arguments with shills pretending everything is perfect and fine when it's not.

Most won't even bother informing you of these many issues with the platform, people don't like wasting more of their valuable time providing feedback to fix and improve the platform for nothing in return, especially those providing the most useful detailed feedback. And to make matters worse you make it as difficult as possible to provide feedback, having to sift through all these pages to finally find where to somewhat do so, still no designated feedback section, little to no response or acknowledgment from you guys, even less of a reason for people to help you. You actually make people hate trying to help you.

And for that reason this is probably the last time I provide any feedback because this is just ridiculous what I'm seeing, too many issues being overlooked and unaddressed for years, it's very unprofessional. If you want me to provide more feedback like this to help fix and improve the many issues like this one, pay me. I'm a nice guy and I'm open for business, may come off a little rude but I'm merely voicing the frustration of the many who don't want to waste their time writing to you like this. Far too many times businesses are so ungrateful to user feedback, maybe you'll be one of the first to finally start changing that.

For the average user the platform seems fine, for those of us actually paying attention, testing and attempting to utilize features other than just making a simple purchase, it's a mess.

So today I wanted to take a look at the Hack and Slash game category, see what's new while I do other things.

One of the most important factors for me as well as many others is the overall review score/rating of a game.

I'm not touching a game with a 'Negative/Mostly Negative' rating or just 'Positive' or 'Mostly Positive' and I mostly avoid games below 90% or so positive and games with very few reviews, I've been burned enough by games like that.

And you steam, you clearly (I would hope? or are you confused sometimes?) realize the importance of that review rating - you place it at the very top of the store page, the various other review rating related options at the user's disposal and importantly the review rating tooltips displayed when you mouse over the game's thumbnail.

CLEARLY you understand the importance of a game's review score/rating(?).

SO WHY IS IT THAT YOU ONLY DISPLAY THE REVIEW SCORE/RATING TOOLTIP SOME OF THE TIME?!

So on the category pages for example (this also happens on other pages funny enough), you have a slideshow of various games with the largest thumbnails on the page, CLEARLY you're trying to give those games the most exposure - NO REVIEW RATING TOOLTIP.

Yet all the other games below that slideshow with much smaller thumbnails DO HAVE REVIEW RATING TOOLTIPS.

What sense does that even make?! Why are you only displaying review rating tooltips for SOME of the games not all of them?!

WHY WOULD YOU NOT DISPLAY THE REVIEW RATING TOOLTIPS FOR THE GAMES WITH THE LARGEST THUMBNAILS ON THE CATEGORY PAGES?!

The purpose of the review rating tooltips is TO SAVE TIME SO WE DON'T HAVE TO OPEN EVERY SINGLE STORE PAGE TO VIEW THE GAME'S REVIEW RATING WHEN CONSIDERING WHAT COULD BE HUNDREDS OF GAMES.

You are WASTING OUR TIME by only displaying the tooltips SOME OF THE TIME.

Yes, caps lock galore because I shouldn't be the one having to inform you of this issue affecting one of the most core features of the platform that has existed FOR YEARS NOW and it's infuriating dealing with this nonsense every time I'm browsing games.

There is no excuse for this, it's just incompetence plain and simple.

Also the delta of reviews, like having 5 people love your game shouldn't give it a high positive rating, its not hard to write a real multi-metric sorting weighted algorithm for user generated and user rated content, I've written tonnes of them and for more complex and larger data sets than Steams meagre wares house, it IS however hard to make a STOREFRONT be honest and upfront.

They skirt the margin between what is useful to you as a customer and what is useful to them as a vendor, hence you will find these stilted mixture of goals exhibit in every facet of life _and it sucks immensely_.

BUT there is good news, friend, there is a Steam API and you can suck down all their data then scrape the rest, use other sources of data and create a site that will actually give you unbiased readings of the data, consistently.

I got halfway through this project then just gave up and went back to using Steams slurry interface. Mmmm i sure love slurry now :(
