Allow AF because I enjoy it
AF have been blocked by steam for a while, but the truth is they're one of my favorite genres of games. Especially after a hard day of working, coming home, just collecting coins on a tricky but generic level is fun. I love the jank they have, real indie vibes. Just numbers going up, but that's what and all I need in that moment.

But, since the change in steam policy, I can't get them here anymore, and i'm stuck using the Switch store to get them.

So, my request/suggestion is to allow Asset flip games on the steam marketplace again.

If people feel "tricked" there is alwasy the 2 hour refund window, and the 100 doolars to publish the game keep away the actual bad ones.

So, yeah, allow so called asset flips again, not everyone is a AAA designer.

Hello, I am not requesting a type of game.

Currently, Steam does not allow AF games.

My suggestion is to allow AF games generally on the steam store by removing the block.
Most asset flip game devs are usually using stolen assets.
Very interesting history of :gandalf:suggestions:gandalf:
As you know, asset flipping is usually stolen or used to have basically no effort in making their own content, which is why it's disallowed.

Correct, but as a player I don’t care if it’s low effort so long as it’s fun. That is the only thing that should matter.

I have more fun playing collect coin asset flips on my switch than I do playing AAA or generic $2 deckbuilder roguelike 193.
"Asset flip" isn't a genre. It means that somebody purchased a game template and slapped a name and logo on it and is (usually as a violation of the license they purchased the template under) reselling it.

And as far as I know, Steam has no rule against asset flips, assuming that they're not actually using stolen materials.
"Because I enjoy it" isn't a compelling reason for anyone outside OP themselves.

Not if the assets are not available for commercial use to the developer of the game. In that case it has to matter to the store selling those games.

The asset flippers still buy the assets like regular developers.

Not every developer of asset flippers does. Some just rip assets from other games, some use demo assets that aren't licensed for commercial purposes.

If that's true then that is a different issue and is between the devs and the asset owners not steam.

The OP is referring to "asset flip" as a genre of games.

Didn't i predict what would happen with your other account, that was banned and now you are forced to use another. Best of luck, blocked, etc.

I've seen that happen a few times, and Valve is generally very quick to remove games that do that from Steam and forcibly refund any purchases.
