Make a payment processor
1. You could afford it.
2. It'd help deal with censorship
3. You'd be keeping more profit that'd go to your employees
4. Cutting out the middle man
and 5. you would be helping the customer

We have so many threads about this already. You are bringing nothing new to the discussion so why did you make this thread?

People already mention the solution of Valve making their own payment processor? My apologies but I hadn't thought to look. Thank you for informing but regardless getting this message out to Valve to have your voice heard.

Isn't bad; unless... you're against the customer voicing their opinions?

Many, many threads about the whole "make a payment processor", "accept crypto because of visa/mc", "visa/mc" etc etc. Definitely advisable especially with content creators like asmongold posting a video, to search before posting. Way too many threads as-is, it just makes people strongly dislike the movement when sections are flooded with one overall subject.

That doesn't make sense; if a lot of people are voicing their support of something; no ♥♥♥♥ that support will be loud.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Like; what do you think happens when censorship takes place?

It's not the payment that is the problem, it's the content, it's against MC/Visas rules to host such games on the store. And no, Valve will not dump MC/Visa, it would kill the platform.

That said, why should Valve even try, just to keep tashgames "Rape, incest and cp" online.
No, remove that trash.

You would know all this if you had looked at all the other topics with this "brilliant" idea.

/Have a great day.

Given Valve has had no small amount of trouble keeping the Steam application in working order, making a payment processor is almost certainly beyond their abilities. Even ignoring that the financiers giving the orders at MC and Visa lobbied the regulations such that competition is essentially impossible.

The correct answer is to get the government to clamp down on this banana republic nonsense but it turns out governments also like having access to this power laundered through corporations. A lot of enemies built this and a lot of thought went into making sure there is no escape or alternative.

Regardless if they dump them or not; them making a payment processor would let me force VISA and Master Card to actually compete. They hold a monopoly and need actual competition.

And making a payment processer is not as easy as you think.

And with how much trouble so many Steam users have with keeping their accounts secure, it would not be worth the legal trouble dealing with that when someone gives out the login information of their Steam payment card.......

I don't think you really understand gthe sheer size and strength of the financial networks and services that those 2 build over the decades.

No, at best Valve could do something like Paypal, Google Pay or Apple Pay. Which means nothing, since all those still connect to the networks and services of MC/Visa. :conwayshrug:

One big thread that's constantly active looks better than several tiny threads that bury legitimate discussions that aren't outrage threads caused by content creators.

Valve has been totally consistent over the years that they are fine with dozens of threads about the same issue in any forum for any issue. It looks better to you of course but it is Valve's forum and their choice how they want it to look. And that's okay.

its not as simple as if steam can afford it or not, payment processors have to be set up through accredited bureaus and if those same bureaus want censorship steam will get nowhere.

There are a couple of other topics for this. Best of luck, blocked, etc.

Why not just use the New decentralized BRICS pay platform?
