OPEN LETTER TO THE CENSORIOUS COWARDS
To the policymakers, payment gatekeepers, media executives, and moral overlords who think censorship is leadership:

You have blood on your hands — not pixel blood, not fiction, not fantasy — real blood.
While you poured billions into sanitizing digital art, into neutering stories and choking the joy out of expression, people are dying in places you won’t look at.

Children in remote Aboriginal communities suffer from diseases that were eradicated decades ago in countries with half your GDP.
People drink water that would be illegal in your city offices.
Basic healthcare? A fantasy.
But instead of addressing this grotesque, festering failure, you spent your time policing cleavage in video games.

You banned characters.
You erased stories.
You sanitized art until it became meaningless sludge, because it made you feel powerful.

You are not heroes.
You are not guardians.
You are cowards who traded real work for fake victories — and now wear your censorship like a medal, while real Australians suffer in silence.

You let preventable diseases spread.
You let generations be forgotten.
And in return, you gave us a culturally lobotomized, creatively bankrupt wasteland of media made for no one.

We see you.
We see the rot.
And we are done being silent.

You will not rewrite our stories.
You will not dictate our art.
And you will not buy forgiveness with moral theatre.

Put the money where it matters.
Put the effort where it’s needed.
Or step aside for someone with a spine.

Signed,
Someone who refuses to play along anymore.

Was this a suggestion for the Steam client/website or...no?
To all the people not on the forums…

You might have better chance of them reading it if you put it on a billboard in the middle of the desert.
Honestly once you realize that they prefer to get mad at drawings than the stuff that actually ruins lives before it even reaches the hand of the customer, writing open letters feels a bit... like it's missing the mark. At that point, all the words that need to be said have been said. They are the enemy, that's all there is to it.

Literally everybody who makes these threads is someone who prefers to get mad about drawings than the stuff that actually ruins lives. How many of these "anti-censorship" outrage junkies do you think have contributed to the well-being of children in remote aboriginal communities, or worked towards providing potable water to those who don't have it? Heck, I'd bet a significant portion of the angry mob hold beliefs that contributed to "letting preventable diseases spread".

Agreed, and the goblet runneth over - it's high time we treat them like we do most enemies. Unrelated, but have y'all seen how easy it is to construct a guillotine?

Give them visas and a security clearance and majority seats on the HR board?

I’m bothered when companies like Disney alter classic films to align with modern political correctness by adding or changing content warnings and editing scenes. It can feel paternalistic, possibly fostering unnecessary sensitivity and, for some, anxiety or reduced resilience.

Actually, a significant amount of work in education, vaccination campaigns, and healthcare initiatives in developing nations has been led by organizations like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the United Nations, and the Rockefeller Foundation. These efforts are often strategically designed to improve public health but has a deeper intent to encourage sustainable population balance through education and access to healthcare.

In fact, many of the good intentions through the lens of progressive policy are in fact a flavor of eugenics and actively disturb cultures. For example, open borders through the claim of diversity has a risk that could impact the diversity that is currently being advocated.

Do yourself a favor and look up some of the academic papers and arguments to encourage diversity so much there will be an eventual expected outcome of no difference in culture.

I don't get what any of this stuff has to do with the sort of pornography that actually ruins lives but it is quite clear that certain people get really ticked off when you mention that.

Guess what? You do not have a right to not be "bothered". On the contrary, being "bothered" is pretty much a given that everyone is going to have to deal with repeatedly in life. If the things that "bother" you enough that you feel the need to speak out about them are entertainment media, then you can consider yourself extremely lucky.

OK. How many people complaining about Visa and Mastercard not wanting to be associated with incest porn are also contributing to education, vaccination campaigns, and healthcare initiatives? Better question: How many of them would be vocally OPPOSED to, say, "vaccination campaigns"?

Gotta admit I thought "Everyone I disagree with online is also spreading diseases to the underprivileged." was pretty precious but this one is truly remarkable.

We are all beholdened to a moral authority, and what better gatekeeper is that of a banker?

In much the same way capitalism and communism are no longer meaningful opponents in the current political context, people just can be really easily made to love bankers. All you need is someone to hate more.
Unfortunately, I regret to inform you that due to ongoing issues with Steam and their lack of opposition to the payment corporations, There project now resembles a sinking ship. Unfortunately, with the current leadership, there appears to be no way to fix this.

im sorry but this is how i see it i hope they take there lesson form this

If anything people would be more likely to buy from a video game store that doesn't have pedophilic, incest and take content.

Even one good indie likely sells significantly more than those games combined. Let alone a single AAA. Hardly a "sinking ship", more like skeletons dragging behind the ship by a rope having the rope cut so the ship moves that bit much faster.
