Store update but lacking filters - filter suggestions.
All the changes don't really help when the store is being clogged with crappy VNs & RPG Maker shovel ware.
A max price filter is handy but to weed out all the trash you should have implemented a minimum price filter years ago.
There's so much tag abuse going on that while I have 'sexual content' and 'gore' enabled as to not miss out on titles like Final Fantasy 16 (which has the tag for partial nudity & implied sexual contact) I'm subjected to a tonne of VN crap. It'd be nice to somehow be able to over come the tag abuse.
I have 'VR' blocked as VR is expensive & as such I don't own one. However using the preference in the store settings has actually lead to several games that support non-VR as well not being displayed when they're be prefect games for me.
It'd be nice if something like a 'dual mode' or 'non-VR' tag should be implemented to make it easier for users to search for games when they have the store preference set. (There is the 'VR supported' option... but the store preference doesn't seem to take negative value into account; that is if a game has 'VR' but also a non-VR mode and .not just 'VR supported' it'll still filter it.)
Another filter set that would be handy is negative/positive metadata filtering. The negative value for game tags doesn't always work well I find so being able to filter out developers I don't want to block but don't want in the search results would be valuable.
For example: searching for JRPG but filtering out 'Square Enix' and 'Fromsoftware' and 'Konami' so I can find non-'aaa' developers with more ease; the 'indie' tag is not always included when it should be, or left out when it shouldn't be).
A last filter that comes to mind off hand is the ability to search for game traits when the developers have filed the trait in.
Examples are: game engine used (I already have RPG Maker blocked & SteamDB tries to help search by game engine but it's not comprehensive), country of origin (not just languages supported as there's multiple versions of several languages), # of times the game has updated (good for early access filtering), install size, last time on sale and of course... DRM includeded (DRM free, Steamworks basic, Denuvo, 3rd party like EA games...)
