Payment proccesors having power over games
Instead of fully taking down games change those games to bitcoin pay only
So you would have a list of games that would not be paid through payment proccesors therefore they would not have power over those games

They would have to be sold on a service willing to take BTC, Valve doesn't and has learned not to accept crypto due to rampant fraudulent transactions and cryptos volatile nature.

We've already had dozens of people suggest crypto as a "bypass", like all the others; this will not work, period. They're going to have to buy that stuff somewhere else.

This wouldn't work. Why? See the dozens of threads saying the very same thing.

Instead of half-assed ideas, how about you do more than five seconds of thought and 0 seconds of research.

THe last time Valve took bitcoin or any crypto they had a 50% fraud rate.

Inicially, Steam shouldn't hear those lame payment companies. If they closes their services, the right decision is to look for alternatives, not to comply with those ridículos demands.

Good luck replacing VISA/MC (and other services depending on them) then have people switch to the new system before Steam goes out of business.

Are you saying that we must lean our heads down to those morons?

In Brazil, we use a direct payment System, called PIX. I heard about an international version. Steam should prefer It, kick those woke trashes out. Who is in command? The gamer community or feminist whales?

You seem to misunderstand the core problem... that the very presence of the game on the store is what the PP's object to. and no Bitcoin is not the solution.

Until this situation gets solved, I won't buy a single new game. I suggest the colleagues to do the same. Vote with wallets.

You misunderstand the situation.

Valve NEEDS VISA/MC. Those payment providers don't need Valve.

We are in a situation where the payment providers got a club magnitutes bigger than Valve's.

It's a 90 pounds pre-teen nerd VS Mike Tyson in his prime situation.

There is no path to victory for Steam.

But, sure, boycott Steam instead of taking aim at those who are actually responsible for the situation. I'm sure it will help.

Ok, you gave the right saving formula. if Valve needs payment companies more than us, we don't need Valve.

It's lammentable that 132 million Steam gamers are "weaker" than 6, maybe 8 feminist fatsoes.

So.. Yes, a boycott is always the best response. What if we accept DEI militancy imposed by Sweet Baby Inc and most DEI-consultancy companies?

We should think about solutions or alternatives in instad of "fight" between ourselves.

If you want to fight. Call your lawmakers and CC holder.

Shooting at Valve for something they can't do ♥♥♥♥ about is not it.

This is not Valve's fight. This is OUR fight.

Those groups don’t have power over multibillion dollar companies. That’s just silly.
Steam will adapt CBDCs before it takes bitcoin again. Mostly because it will likely be legally required.
As I pointed out in another thread, I do think that crypto is a possible solution to this issue, but the problem is that because of how the processor agreements work, if you sell stuff they don't like at all, they walk. It's not just that they won't process that payment. They'll try to kill your whole business.

This is why what Valve should do is switch to crypto-only for the entire storefront. It's the nuclear option, and that's what's called for right now.
