You've given comment an award
Yeah I know.
How do I know that? I know that because I gave comment an award.
Do I really need to be emailed each time w/o an ability to disable such notifications?
Pls add an option to disable this unnecessary feature.

Why? the emails shows the link to what it was, kind of handy when you'd like to know what it was.

if you gave the award you already know because you're the one that gave it

I literally was there xD
Supported. But maybe also for the receiving side too; I can imagine a situation where someone is getting gang-clowned and wasn’t farming for it.

Hence the “but also”
Yea sure, but also why mention it

1). Receiving is the antonym of Giving.

2). They both send you an email.

3). Jauntita mistook your request to be about receiving rather than giving, demonstrating the relationship between the two concepts being close enough to mistake one for the other.

4). Despite it being a mistake it provoked further thought on both giving and receiving being opt-outable for emails.

I actually think there was an option to disable it for when you recieve awards. At least I don't get any notifications for that ever, even though I have like 60k pts and I don't even know why :D

Yes. It's a canary in case your account is compromised.

Well I'm asking for an option, not compete removal, I'm not afraid to lose my points and I have 2-factor authentication enabled, so good luck hijacking that.

malware can steal your session token and therefore bypass 2FA

A security feature that is optional is not a security feature.

I really doubt this is a security feature first and foremost like cmon
Imagine someone hacking into my account and first thing they do is give some comment an award
Be real

You can turn the email notifications for received awards off. Going to your Account details you can access email preferences. Direct link: https://steamhost.cn/account/emailoptout
