I agree with the OP, some kind of friend request filter would be nice, including options to limit by account age/level and disabling incoming invites entirely.
This. I cant even blame the groups youre in which is the usual suspect in these cases.
It's an immediate solution because i doubt Valve will permit the disabling of friend request this fast. Else it would have been added years ago.
And why I HAVE TO make my profile private because some strange guy (ONE GUY) send my friend requests?? This is why Im here, to suggest new feature. Other people may use it for other purposes.
Based on my general knowledge, they are after someone's acc/inventory. They stay silent in the dark/while being your friends, you forget about them, then they ask you for various things or change their name similar to one of your friends and send phishing links etc.
I just made my account completely private (including inventory), but I still get requests.
The conclusion was that they will investigate if something malicious happened.
Well, that's pretty clear already. Nothing malicious happened because I DIDN'T ALLOWED IT.
I simply asked that an investigation is launched into this particular scammer, as most likely he shared the same IP on all accounts, at least for some of the GET requests he made.
Unfortunately, I wasn't entertained with a proper answer in this regard.
