when you get the promods mods working, take the whole euro truck folder and copy paste it to documents,
then, anytime you want to play a modded version, you go to documents and open the euro truck folder, and run the game from there
steam will update the game thats located in steamapps>common,
but it wont touch your game in documents,
feel free to add me or message if you need more help
People need to stop buying games that every update over YEARS atp, break their games, for one excuse or another.
Do not put applications into My Documents.
You can put it literally (almost) anywhere else. Just create a new folder under C:\ or another partition.
The My Documents folder will be synchronized and uploaded to OneDrive in default settings, causing you a lot of unnecessary internet usage.
