Be able to remove comments from your own Threads
This has been an issue a lot for Steam

Why Thread Creators Should Be Allowed to Remove Spam and Off-Topic Comments

1. Preserving the Purpose of the Thread
When someone creates a thread, they do so with a specific topic or goal in mind — whether it's asking a question, starting a discussion, sharing an idea, or solving a problem. Off-topic comments and spam:
Distract from the original subject
Confuse readers
Make it harder for others to follow the conversation or contribute meaningfully
Allowing the creator to remove unrelated replies helps keep the discussion clear and focused.

2. Protecting Against Spam and Abuse
Steam Discussions often suffer from:
Spam links, ads, or irrelevant self-promotion
Troll comments, memes, or intentionally disruptive content
Hostile or insulting replies meant to provoke others rather than contribute
Thread creators having moderation tools allows them to quickly deal with these problems instead of waiting for Steam moderators (who are often overwhelmed or delayed).

3. Improving the Value of the Platform
Threads that stay on-topic, clean, and respectful:
Provide better answers and insights
Help future users who search for the same issue or topic
Encourage more people to participate constructively
This raises the overall quality of community discussions and builds a healthier environment.

4.Why It Doesn’t Mean Abusing Power
The goal isn't to silence different opinions — it's to give thread creators basic tools to manage their own discussions. Just like moderators in forums or admins in group chats, thread creators should be trusted with:
Removing spam
Removing off-topic clutter
Removing personal attacks or harassment
They do not need to remove every disagreement, only things that clearly break the thread’s focus or civility.

Even tho I respect everyone for saying something and having a freedom a speech but derailing conversations about the topic made is very frustrating.

No one in discussions keeps the comments about the topic made, they just proceed to chat with each other or even start insults or completely different conversations.

As a Thread creator you should be able to remove comments not related to the topic made.

Spamming nonsense and no comments none related with main topic should not be allowed

I believe this comment section now would go on with converstions nothing about the topic related to prove my point lol

They aren't "your threads". You lose the ability to decide who gets to talk on a post the second you chose to make it here in a public space that you do not own or control.

If you want to be able to control your own little echo chamber, go make a blog.
They aren't your threads.
You don't own Steam, the threads will never be yours. You will never get to control anything on the Steam forums like its your own personal fiefdom. Full stop. This is a public space controlled by Valve and they say that anyone can speak up in any thread they wish to.

If you want a forum space you control, why not make your own Steam group?
so you want to remove every comment that doesn't agree with you

Calm down man, I’m not asking to remove you from threads only the Thread the creator is on and only for strong reasons
We differ in only that i don't believe in "removing" ones comments, but simply blocking them on our feed, and preventing them from responding to our comments.

I find people here are also very sensitive, and seemingly most everything can be construed as rude, offensive, harassing, namecalling etc. Matters that "they' may feel are against rules but may not be.

They too can use the block feature.

And so i think you're on the right Track Op, but self moderating our OPs, and taking down comments although would work for some, can be a cause for raucous.

While a real block feature has already been tried on Reddit and others, and has proven to work effectively.

Good Luck :steamhappy:

I never said this and you can read what I mentioned, I wouldn’t care if someone didn’t agree with me as long as they are in topic

Better yet I would be more than happy if someone proved me wrong and disagreed with me for something related to the topic

"Calm down" Nice attempt to discredit someone's opinion. Nothing I said was even slightly upset or in any need of 'calming down'.

You just don't like hearing reality.
Disagree because it gives too much power to trolls. Imagine someone creates a trolling topic that bashes a specific game then deletes all responses that are in any way positive for the game they are bashing.

“Full Stop” from your side is very demanding to stop from someone from saying something, even as fast as proving yourself wrong to the topic made, while Calm Down is a nice gesture to let someone know that they are becoming frustrating for something they don’t understand.

Also you commented twice for the same thing just the 2nd time you seemed more furstrated.

Don’t worry as long as you stay in topic no one will have reasons to remove your comment

Then the Thread could be reported to Steam Support, easy as that.
Thread title: Be able to remove comments from your own Threads

They are not your threads, they are threads you create on a public discussion forum.

People can disagree with your opinions on the thread you created in the Rust forum.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/252490/discussions/0/594028416743777176/

Just like this thread when you create it, you open it up for discussion.

Ok you're proving yourself as entirely disingenuous here by trying to pick a fight with me using an intensifying word to illustrate a point more firmly.

You simply want to control your own little box, and if you can't do it by deleting people, you'll instead do it with pathetic little word games so that only the opinions that YOU like are valid to post. Blocked.
