Is it neccesary for steam to function as a browser?
Hello,
so as you guys know steam PC app can be used as a browser to view anything and this gives me little bit trouble.

Thing is I have issue with addiction to adult content and I found a way how to block it inside regular browsers, but if I have steam on my PC I can still browse this type of content in the apps browser. (which is what I am trying to not do)

So I was thinking, maybe Valve could remove browser function from steam?
I personally think that nobody would miss it since you can simply look at game tutorials etc. in normal browsers and it would make my life little bit easier if it wasn´t there. (maybe some other people struggle with this too)

Or what do you guys think, do you find this function as super important? Do you use it often? Do you have some special uses for it?

This guy was also talking about this topic in 2020, so I sort of agree with his opinion: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/discussions/forum/10/2527030866866325817/

I use the Steam browser from time to time for information when ingame. It is useful to some people.

That is a you problem, also the entire Windows steam client is a Chrome based browser, so if your turn it off, you will no longer have a working client...
Yes it is necessary. The entire client is effectively a customized browser. This is an issue that's on your end to fix, not steams.
