How does a history only you see being removed enhance privacy or add "flexibility". Those seem to be buzz words with no actual improvements being done, and this can be heavily abused by malicious actors who compromise your account, send gifts using steam wallet, then delete the history to hide their actions while providing no actual benefits.

A lot of account history should be immutable. I'm not sure why gift history should be editable. I don't think gift history is public, so it's already private.

I'm sure you have your reasons, but they may not outweigh the reasons behind the existing implementation. Generic flexibility and control arguments may not add up to much.

Transactional history is usually never deleted.
