At first, I would like to know if I can remove some items I purchased from the point shop. For example, some chat emotes I no longer use. I have too many, making it hard to find the ones I want.

I don’t need any points refund—I just want to remove unused items.

But, Steam Support told me:

Steam Support is not able to help remove items purchased with Steam Points, or items granted from participation in other Steam events. These items not being able to be removed or deleted by users is intentional as they are not marketable, tradeable or able to be repurchased from the Steam Point Shop.

At this time the Steam team is not looking at changing how this works. However, our development team will be looking at other potential alternate solutions for users who no longer wish to see these items in their inventory which may be updated in the future.

So, I think could we consider this: In the inventory interface, add an option to mark certain chat emotes as "hidden." This way, they wouldn't be displayed during chats or in comments. I think this could be a viable alternative solution.

After all, Steam already allows users to hide or set games to private in their game library. If it's possible to hide entire games, it seems feasible that hiding specific emotes should also be technically possible, right?
