In the Steam client, where games are displayed on the “shelf,” I’d love to see a new feature that I reckon would be a hit with many players. In online survival games, there’s often a timer say 3 to 4 weeks before your base starts to decay or gets wiped if you don’t log in. It’s easy to forget, and losing all that progress can be a real kick in the guts.

Here’s my idea: allow users to right-click a game on the shelf and set a custom countdown timer. This timer would then appear as a small overlay on the game’s cover art, acting as a visual reminder. It could help players keep track of login deadlines, seasonal events, or even personal goals like “jump back in before the wipe.”

How good would that be, right?
