Steam "Gamepass" service for Indie games

I think it would be feasible. On Steam, there are countless indie games that get lost among the viral ones. Most viral indie games owe their popularity to streamers, which isn't fair because it doesn't reflect their quality. I've bought unknown indie games many times and realised they were really fun.

If Steam had some kind of monthly subscription pass that gave limited access to indie or lesser-known titles in general, it would bring to light many titles that are overshadowed by the viral ones.

With this pass, as an indie developer, if you wanted your game to appear, you would have to pay an extra fee. I know Valve takes too much money, but I don't think paying for more visibility in the game store is a bad thing. Or we could just have a list of completely random indie games that aren't very well known. As I said, there are some real indie gems out there that are hardly known and could gain a lot of visibility thanks to this pass.

Valve doesn't need a loss leader to attract customers. It's already the biggest PC storefront there is.

I’d at least like to be able to browse them, but instead I have to click through piles of "advertised" stuff. Since there’s no pagination, I have to keep hitting 'Show more' every 10 or so games in the selected category. If i closed the tab - my browsing progress is lost.

I can bet it's done on purpose to force the devs to pay for "unofficial marketing"

GabeN doesn't want to add a subscription to Steam, at this time.

GabeN would work with MS to bring Gamepass to Steam or any other dev/pub that wants to add a subscription to Steam, if they want to.

Steam already supports subscriptions and if any indie dev's wanted to set one up they are free to do so on steam and offer it.
Indie devs re free to band together and create such a service. Valve isn't gonna put their foot in that minefield.
