request to valve
Is it possible to directly access the Steam Cloud to delete my old save files without having to install the game first?

I understand that with the vast variety of games on Steam, it's not feasible for the cloud to handle every unique save file format. That's why I'm not asking to delete *individual* files, but rather to wipe *all* of a game's save data at once (on a per-game basis, of course).

From a cloud management standpoint (Valve), wouldn't it also be more convenient if users could clear out their own data this way?

You cannot delete cloud saves because it is not a user space, nor is intended to be. You can only download saves.

You can try the following but it requires the game to be downloaded and launched.

This is a post from the Cyberpunk 2077 forum (CDPR) not Steam and relates to Cyberpunk 2077 saves but may also be applicable to other games.

Note: It worked for the OP of this thread on Steam.

When I mentioned only the question part of my post to the administrator, he responded that he would delete it if I listed the game name.

However, what I wanted was something more intuitive: to delete it myself...

I confirmed that I can access my cloud-stored content through the customer service inquiry channel. Wouldn't it be enough to just add a delete button?

you can't but just disable in the properties of the game removes them from cloud, make a new save then enable cloud again

Yeah — to do that you'd have to install the game. Read my question again.

Those are games I won't be playing again.

Have you done that?

Secondly it is odd you were told that when they will not remove achievements.

Valve chose not to make it a user space.

Pretty much this. There is software, i believe gamesave manager, one could use, store those on google drive or usb stick or the likes and use or delete as needed.

Valve stores every single version of every 120 gb western AAA UE5 game ever made, as well as streams video and fills each store page with 5mb gifs.

Storage space is not a problem for Valve at all.

At the time, the manager clearly answered that way, but later apologized and reversed his response, saying he couldn't do that. It was a truly absurd situation.

But I wanted to delete all the save files for games I'll never install again...

Thanks for your reply.
