I hate the achievements hid behind DLCs
I personally love achievement hunting and replaying the games

my suggestion is;
Separation of main game and dlc achievements

That way we can keep blue ribbon for base game and get as usual

For dlc achievements i suggest orange ribbon (or another colored ribbon) might be cool

If you haven't gotten the dlc achievements, then you don't have all the achievements for the game as the dlc is still part of the game.

Here's a radical concept, simple yet genius: ignore the flashy visuals popping up on your screen. Shocking, I know. Bold, too.

If you are an actual achievement hunter, then it's immaterial that there are achievements specific to dlc. If you want to be a completionist, then you complete ALL the content. Simple as.
I sympathise but achievements are pretty meaningless. My favourite game made the bold decision to release 3 DLC with no achievements attached to the DLC but the fact remains that most devs do not have enough faith in their products to do that. Games should be fun enough that people want to play them for the joy of it but we are human and we like landmarks.

Can you imagine the logistical nightmare for Steam to try to partition all the existing DLC achievements from games that are already released?

problem is that 10% of the human population suffers from OCD. achievements that pop up activate the areas of the brain responsible for this condition. in short, achievements for people suffering from this are like alcohol for an alcoholic, or a casino for a gambler.
and playing games associated with pleasure suddenly turns into an obsession, because you cant turn off achievements on steam, and steam itself reminds you of them at every turn. you can only 'ignore' them, but its like inviting an alcoholic to a bar and telling to him 'oh, dont be a baby, just dont drink'.
achievements for dlc manipulate these people, they feel forced not only to earn achievements, but in the case of steam it also forces them to buy dlc. without dlc game is incomplete, you will never fully finish it.
so you have no choice, youll be getting them whether you want to or not. and then you finish game and you have 10% because developer came up with some crap that doesnt make game fun, but makes it work.
ironically, 99.99% of developers are not aware of how achievements work, what theyre for, and that they could even be a fun addition to game. they simply come up with the biggest nonsense possible, wasting every players time.

achievements are the most manipulative thing in gaming apart from shops.
This is already possible but dev pbs tend to prefer the way you see now. Less hassle, and with the added bonus of subtley nudging players towards buying the dlc.

You shouldn’t speak on behalf of everyone who suffers from OCD. Achievements aren’t manipulative. Manipulative is using individuals that have OCD as if that’s a valid base for OP’s suggestion.
Devs have been asking for the ability to separate out cheevos from game to DLC but Steam has not provided it, sadly. Probably too late to turn it around now.

Hell nah im not gonna drop 60 dolar for 40 hour campaign for playing 10 hour or less

The achievements makes me happy and gives motivation to play even most boring games

With the 100% blue ribbon i feel i fully conquered the game and i allow myself to play a new game

Doing it late is better than never even doing things devs asked for

I can't help but feel sad reading that.

Anyway, as said, already possible, devs just don't do it.

There is literally a dev on this forum who wants to do it and says Valve does not let developers do it. If you know it is possible, tell him how to do it. He will thank you.

If you choose to ignore part of the achievements, then yes, your not a true achievement hunter.
The DLC is still part of the game, so not getting those achievements means you haven't gotten them all for that game.
Even if they counted separately, you still wouldn't have all the achievements by ignoring a DLC.

Ngl, if Sony can separate DLC achievements/trophies from the base game stuff, i don't see how Valve wouldn't be able to do so as well, just a thought.
