Stop pushing random buttons and then you won't have to deal with it.
However, a lot of folks will never encounter this use case.
It is perhaps expected that a good portion of those who do, will not be the most computer savvy folk. They just want to play games on a widescreen TV sitting in a couch.
So... BPM should exist. There's an argument for it being 'auto-switchable-to' by default. (me English gud. :-p )
I do appreciate that Valve is offering this feature. If you want the feature, it seems to work very well.
But...
There's no argument against having a simple setting that permanently disables/enables this feature.
Valve, you've dropped the ball there.
