[Idea] Achievement Showcase on Profile
I've voiced this opinion elsewhere, but I was hoping it could catch some 'Steam' here:

Allow us to select ~5 obtained achivements that we can display on our profile page, similar to how the badges are shown.

After we obtain achivements, they fade away into nothingness once the friend feed fills up. Allowing us to display a few on our page, people can visit our pages and see some of our most hard-earned or unique achievements.

These would be user selectable, from any game, as long as they have unlocked it. It would provide nothing but a bit more customization to our profile -- which was not really changed much with this update so far.

This would give more of a reason to drive users to their friend's profiles, and give more encouragement for obtaining achievements.

Edit: I'd like to say this is in no way in support for a 'point-based' achievement system. I feel that the system is perfect as it is -- there is no need for an overall achievement score. Just a bit of a way to personalize and show off some of your favorites.

Also, showing games with 100% completetion in the profile might also be nice. Similar to XBL.

I'd like this. I can't see any harm in it.

I am most definitely in support of this!

While true, I'm fairly confident that the vast majority of people who go for achievements do so legitly without any third party tool.

I think this'd be nice, too, but it'd be needed to be designed carefully for those with quite a few 100%s. I'm by no means the "best" with achievements but I currently have 20 100%'d games, according to SteamScore.net. It'd most likely be a design nightmare if all 20 were listed down the side of a profile! Would we choose a top three? Would it be the most recent three? Would they be just text or pictures? :P

I don't understand what you mean?

+1 I agree with what is being said in opening post. I think instead of global points though, there should be a % for each game so as to indicate how far away you are from completion of that game. I also wonder about achievement comparison with friends.

That'd be nice, yes! I know you can compare achievements on a 1 to 1 basis with friends, but could there not be a page where we can compare achievements between multiple friends?

Glad to see the support here. Hopefully they recognize this would be a good feature and encourage more expressing on our profile pages.

Selecting some achievements on the profile page is a great idea !

i think it'd be a great idea. You'll get some extremely hard to get achivement, then after like 3 days or so it goes to nothing. You got my support.
