Is your mouse old or defective? What mouse is it? This doesn't sound like a game or steam problem on the surface. But I have experienced mouse buttons wearing out.

Well how often do you need to just hold the right click in windows though? Pressing it once may be fine most of the time. But if there's a short of some kind, you might see that with holding it down in games.

I guess you could try to reset the mouse profile in the mouse software, or look at the windows mouse settings.

Change the primary button on the mouse to right button and try to click and drag to create a selection box on your desktop. If the box disappears without you letting go of the button you'll know the button is the problem.

Then go see how common right click issues are in those games I guess. Would require forum specific posts.

Hey I had the same problem and found a solution. Try running the game in borderless window.

I also had this issue on specifics games like Overwatch or COD Warzone where the right click doesn't seems to hold and seems to stutter. I read online that this is a common issue with logitech and razer mouse. Apparently blowing into your mouse will fix this (I didn't believed it at first but it actually solve it for me). You can read it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/6j1sv6/razers_mouse_double_clicking_problem/

The answer: Logitech Mice do this as well. There's a trick to try and fix it:
The toggle switch that operates the 'button' sometimes gets a static charge buildup. To help release it, breath a few breaths into the gap between the button and the base of the mouse (the slit that allows the button to move and 'click'). The humidity in your breath will usually dissipate the static buildup and the button will stop double clicking- most of the time. I repaired a Logitech G602 using this method, it might work on the Razer mice as well.

*Note- it may take a few tries to do this, I had to do this to my mouse over several days. Slow breaths are better as it allows more humidity to dissipate the static.

This thread is literally incredible and I can't believe this worked. I couldn't get my precision bolt to stay up or my shield mod in Doom Eternal and this fixed it. 10/10 thread.

Just amazing...as others have said. This thread is gold. I had this issue with my first razr lancehead, so I bought a new one. Well 2 years later, here I am. Now, it's fixed and I have two working mice!
