Steam was downloading at high speed and suddenly dropped to low speed
I use ASUS ROG Flow X16 which has a MediaTek 160MHz Wifi model, but I use ethernet which gives consistent speed. When I downloaded Apex Legends on Steam with Throttling disabled I got 55-60MBPS download speed IN STEAM. But the games that were in queue after that the speed dropped to like 100KBPS. I tried clearing the download cache and relogging into Steam, but it didn't work. I tried clearing the temporary files of apps to free the RAM, that didn't work either. If it helps, I just installed a FireCuda 530 1TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD onto the second slot of my laptop yesterday. It has up to 7300MBPS read/write speed. I still can't figure out the problem, can someone please help me out?

So because you're having problems 'they' need to fix something? It's like @CursedPanther said the default download server Steam assigns to you is often not the best so you need to try different ones to see which is better and like what I said when Steam updates it reverts back to the default server so you need to change it back.

I have a similar problem my speed goes from 250mbs to 12mbs but it keeps going up and back down I already tried clearing the cache but that didn't help

how is the disc activity, and network activity?

That's fairly normal behavior; just cause you might get lets say 50MB/s most of the time; it's normal to see it change the more lengthy the download actually is. Plus it will do this when its taking time to decompress stuff on local disk and not actually downloading. It doesn't just start downloading and finish and its done; there's more to it then that.
