*FIX* Steam slow downloads, not downloading, cloud sync error, etc.
Hello all,

Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit w/ SSD harddrive
ISP: Frontier Fios 500/500
Network: Hardwired Ethernet

I have had issues with steam not downloading game updates for any game or very slow downloads. Also I would also run into cloud errors specifically for Dota 2.

Here are things I tried that I read on the forums that DID NOT work for me:
1.) Change Servers
2.) Reinstall STEAM. Reinstall network adapters.
3.) netsh winsock reset via command prompt.
4.) Windows integrity check via sfc /scannow even the dism online one.
5.) Allowed program(s) through Firewall and Antivirus

Nothing I did worked, everytime I would log in to steam I wasn't able to download updates, if I was able by chance randomly it would take 20-30 mins. I was going to reinstall windows when I randomly thought of something. In my area, Frontier recently gave is IPv6 addresses. I was like oh cool that works better for Xbox but I didn't seem a change on my PC experience.

Here's the fix for me.

System > Network > Ethernet > Change adpater options > Right click ethernet adpater that is connected > Properties > UNCHECK TCP/IPv6

Instant fix, my downloads started right away and my steam and game downloads have been working fine every since. Now I dont know what the drawbacks of not using IPv6 is in the future when all the addresses run out or whatever. But this is temp quick fix for me and I thought I would share, just in case anyone is having issues.
