To fix what?
Well for one they are key to proper performance.
If you did not install Win11 using the EU Country + OffLine methods then you already did it all wrong and should wipe out the OS and do it right.
Do not rely on Windows Updates for Drivers. Download and install those yourself. It's very easy to figure out what all you need and from where.
windows generic incorrect drivers is like running in limp mode
not knowing how to do things right the first try it take more cpu to figure out how to do things
ms takes a guess at what you have and grabs a driver thats 'compatible' but never correct
if the ssd is over 75% full, it will slow down, thats just how ssds work
clear some space on it 250g should have around 60-75g free
if you need more space a 1tb ssd is around $50-80, or 2tb for around $100
get a m.2 nvme ssd, and clone the ssd to it
most intel 3xx boards will disable 2 sata ports with a m.2 ssd, so make sure to plug the sata drives into the ports that are not disabled
Usually you'll see new BIOS on the manufacturer website when major gpu's come out and there needs to a be an overhaul of multiple generations of a component
It's like something wrong being found for a car, that causes widespread issues, but instead of a recall they actually just give you a digital file that fixes it
the trouble is that sometimes you update, and the PC doesn't start anymore...
Are you sure you're not switching to Linux?
I've done some updates so will see how it goes. Thanks
Note: You might be right, that Windows is not doing it properly. My experiance.with Windows is only on company laptops. I just wonder why people decide to punish themselves this way.
Also from my experience with Windows, it is not slow because of drivers (it might be influencing a bit some games, but not general performance). It is slow, because Microsoft is putting everything on cloud. With each stupid action, Windows is trying to connect somenthing on internet. Even such basic things as "right click". It adds time to each action you do. It gives you feeling that all is so slow. I really hate switching to Windows because of that sloweness.
3 weeks ago. Things have proven a lot since then. From time-to-time I get few stutters and delays but lot better than before.
If you do switch most Windows games run under Proton, so it is not as if you would have to reboot every time you want to play a game. Just those few times when a game proves problematic.
never specific ones for the devices on your mobo
ex. realtek has 1000+ sound cards, windows grabs one that covers most of them, good enough to work
but no specific settings to change input/output on each port, or use all of the abilities of the sound device
for many other things it may be using limp mode, more cpu used than letting the hardware do its job
having a correct older driver is way better than a generic newer one
once you have the correct driver, its fine ot disable windows driver updates
