Steam link no sound issue with ps5 controller
Hello! I have checked some similar discussions but sadly to no availt, here is my issue in detail:

I have a Xiaomi Smart TV that has Steam Link downloaded. It is in the living room, connected via ethernet to the same router as the PC is (Windows 11, different room).

Steam Link works well and fine on its own, until I connect a PS5 controller. Steam Link sound plays well on the TV, but will stop the moment I connect the controller and I have tried multiple supposed solutions as: toggling host sound on/off, allowing/or not steam outputs and inputs in sound settings, changing sound settings both on pc and Steam Link (TV does not have output settings), entering the beta, reconnecting the controller, and many combinations of the aforementioned.

I do not know what else to set up or what should I change, I just want the sound to output either to the controller or the TV (as it happens when I connect a mouse), but changing and trying all those combinations of settings seems to render me soundless nonetheless, the only solution seems to be disconnecting the controller and voilá, sound will return to the TV.

Any help on this?

Hmm that's odd. Can you use ds4windows and see if it changes anything? Anyways bumped your topic.

the ds4/dualsense are seen as a controller and audio device

after connecting the controller to the tv, check ts sound settings and change its default back to tv or whatever speakers you use

in the link app settings turn off mic if you dont use it

after its verified that sound still works as intended, start the link app and set link app audio to stereo or 5.1/7.1
then you can begin streaming and it will work as intended

Thing is, TV and pc are not in the same room and not intercnnected (just both via ethernet to the same router). If the controller is connected to the TV, will that computer program do anything on the pc?

No it wouldn't change anything in your case. Problem is that dualsense whenever I used it without ds4windows would cause my PC to automatically output sound from the controller. Maybe your TV behaves similarly?

ds4windows is not needed with steam input

just disable the audio device in windows audio control panel

his problem was not with using the controller on pc, its an android issue

remote play will forward the audio devices and control inputs to the host pc
