low gpu usage .. need help
i recently bought a rtx 5060ti 8gb , and the gpu usage is not going max and im getting really low frames , its never going 1000 % , always stays below 90%..

my system config ,

mobo: b450m pcie3.0
resolution : 1080p 144hz
processor: ryzen 5600g
ram: 16gb
psu : 550w

before removal of the old gpu i uninstalled the old drivers along with msi after burner and rivatuner , and reinstalled them once the new gpu is installed.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

At a first glance it looks like a classic CPU bottleneck or 144fps cap.

I'm not crossing 50 fps in any game and cpu is not maxed out

CPU will almost never be maxed out in games - it can bottleneck well below 50% utilisation unlike GPU.
But 50fps sounds way to low.
In that case maybe it's thermal throttling? Or RAM is not configured correctly? 2nd and 4th slot?

im thinking about the psu , do i need 650 w ?
thermals are all ok , its always below 60

Your system should consume well below 650w and I haven't heard of performance throttling due to PSU yet. too weak VRM on motherboard can potentially do that but probably not to 5600G.

What is your PSU? What games did you test? Did the problem start since the upgrade or you didn't see any performance gain from the upgrade? Did you test all temps using HWiNFO64? This software can check tons of temp sensors in your system.

well , i just swapped the new gpu few hrs ago and been testing since , im testing using msi after burner , and temps looked ok , gpu usage was always low in every game i played and gpu power sage never went above 110 , 110 max i saw and mostly below 100...

i've tested on , rdr2 , cyberpunk , division 2 , dead island 2, dying light 2 , ... also tried b using ra tracing , same thing happens , low gpu usage overall
If you go in BIOS and turn SMT off you will see all the cores maxing out then, it's the chips backend that is clogging up, SMT gives kind of false results in gaming for the actual workload it's doing.

A 5700X, 5800X or 5700X3D will open the GPU up.

That would be my initial guess.

MSI afterburner shows only some temperatures when HWiINFO64 gives data from like over 20 sensors.
RayTracing is a bit unique as it's both very GPU and CPU heavy. Your CPU may not be fast enough for RT.
However, something is definitely not right as some of these games don't even have RT.
Did you try installing new motherboard/chipset drivers?
I just checked that after installing the gpu in my system my ram is only 8gb showing in my system , even though I have 2 ram sticks plugged in to the mobo

No , the only software component I reinstalled after putting the new gpu in is the graphics drivers and msi after burner

I asked my mechanic if a fresh reinstall of windows is necessary and he said no

which games are you talking about and how many fps are really low exactly?
be more specific...

you could run a benchmark software like userbenchmark or passmark to check if everything runs properly...

In cyberpunk I'm getting constant 35-40fps .. no matter what settings I play ..and gpu and cpu usage both 70-80% ...goes up and down

In rdr2 constant 50-55 fps at max settings. Cpu and gpu both not maxed out

Same with other games.

Strange thing is that , even though I have 16gb ram plugged into my mobo, only 8gb is showing in task manager and inside games . They all r using 8gb ...I have 2 rams, both 8gb

Been using these 2 combined till today before gpu swap. After swap only one is showing
