Wow much gigs of RAM should I get?
Should I get 32 gigs or 64 gigs? Is 64 gigs over doing it?

For games 32 gigs is enough. If you use your PC for work, depending on the task 64 gigs would be even better.

32gb. You would know already if you need 64gb or more... you would be a video editor, music producer or something!

He can always add more memory later on. Totally depends on his usage but 32 gigs is more then enough for gaming. Consoles only have half of that.

32GB is fine, but RAM is cheap enough that you can get as much as you can afford. I got 64GB, even though I would probably get along just fine with 32GB. It lets me run bigger AI LLM models locally.
