[Help] 1440p IPS gaming monitor
Hello,I am seeking recommendations for a 1440p IPS monitor suitable for gaming. My current hardware setup includes: a Ryzen 7 5800X3D / 32GB of Corsair RAM at 3000MHz and a MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Super Ventus 2X 12GB of VRAM. Please note that I am interested in purchasing it for Christmas. I understand that there is still some time before then, but I would like to get an idea in advance.

I'm on W11 with everything updated to its latest release (no beta), my budget is around €1,000.

EDIT: I’m thinking of going for a 27" monitor because taking into account how my desk/room is set up, I’d be way too close to the screen and it would strain my eyes. Definitely want to avoid that! =)

I don't play any competitive FPS games; I encounter FPS elements in games like Far Cry or Cyberpunk 2077. Instead, I mainly play roguelikes/lites, graphic adventures, JRPGs, RPGs, action games,side-scrolling beat 'em up, NO RTS (I suck big time in that genre

The 1440p oleds are not good. If you have normal eyesight then you notice the lack of sharpness

With 1g you could easily buy a 240hz 4k oled. Better but still not as good as the Samsung qd oled TVs

Is this model ok -> Alienware AW2725DF 27 or it's just vapor, due to the brand??

The good ones generally are now at 32 inch 16:9 and 34 inch or higher Uktrawide 21:9

If you really want Alienware that's cool, great Monitors but I highly recommend 1440p 21:9

It's amazing, especially since Alienware tend to have real GSync not fake FreeSync

4K above 120Hz then you better have AT LEAST RTX 4080

I think they also have a 4k model at that size. Good sharpness and clarity but poor brightness. Like at that price range I would opt for the qd oled TV instead

Also be careful with these qd oled monitors. Very easy to scratch

Could you give me some specific models of 27'' high-quality QD OLED TVs suitable for gaming, if they exist? Alternatively, at best the next available size i.e 32'' ;please keep in mind that I care a lot about color performance. I want them in 2K resolution, since I’m not interested in 4K at the moment. Thank you in advance for your help.
When it comes to monitors I have an msi bias - 272urx qd oled 27" - and there is a considerably cheaper gigabyte model - mo27u2 qd oled 27" - but I can't vouch for anything gigabyte

There is a saying where I come from. You buy cheap, you pay twice

and im bias towards LG as i can always find good ones for cheap.....

to be blunt the GPU is to low on the stack to go over 500 bucks on a monitor.....so many great options at this price point.....

im myself have a 2560x1440 32inch running at 165hz......it was 200 bucks back when this level of specs was 500 plus....i got a refurbed monitor with only 4 hours on the life timer and the protective cover never being pealed off the screen.....

now there are monitors with the same specs for 160 bucks on sale......OLED is the best but its really a waste of money given what other cheaper monitors can give you at half the cost.....

the last guy that said that to me has replaced 3 cars in the time frame i have kept a used 07 prius....i have rebuilt the suspension twice to rebalancing the battery pack 3 times in 13 years i have owned it......i have not spent over 8 grand total on the car and repairs....he has spent over a 120k and i picked him up with the prius when the first 2 died...HAHA......

A rich friend that had family money bought a 500k Mc Mansion in 1999 when i bought a 130k triplex that needed work the same year and both of us were 19 years old....i retired at 29, he got his first real job at 32 over being broke.....i kept paying the mortgage out my own pocket and sent 2 rent checks in every month to pay on the principal...paid off the first place in 5 years....bought the next place and paid that one off in 2 years....3rd place took less then a year to pay off.....

paying more never means you get more or get better quality.....

Because cars and monitors are similarly built and have the same type of quality applied to each portion of it? Jokes aside I know what you mean and I don't blame you but going with gigabyte especially after the m28u fiasco is bold to say the least

I've had 6 MSI monitors go out shortly after their warranty. Beware.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I was about to wrote the same thing. It's easy to lecture others and act like a moralist, but rarely do this people actually suggest alternative solutions, they just engage in the usual "virtue signaling".

He is still emotional from another discussion we had and btw if you a device from the same brand break twice... Idk maybe don't buy that brand again but it's his prerogative to buy it 6x lol

And I don't share his experience. I got 5x msi monitors. 2x 1440p 165hz qd ips and 3x 4k 160hz qd ips. My gf uses one of the 4k 28" and 2x 1440p 27" for her work. That's 6-8 hours of static content at medium brightness. After 4 years all of them still work without problems

@Corona Scurrae
What do you think about this model: MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED 27''
Currently, it costs 840€ in Italy, where I reside. Given the budget I will have available at the end of the year, I hope for some Christmas discounts and, with the "savings," I plan to get a proper cover to protect the monitor from dust.
Considering my specs:
Ryzen 7 5800X3D
32GB of Corsair RAM at 3000MHz
MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Super Ventus 2X 12GB.
Will I be able to properly support this monitor with this setup?
Thank you in advance for your time and reply.

PS: The 272URX QD-OLED 27" atm it's around 1200€ so it's out of my budget...
