PSU for RX 7600?
I check 3 sites that calculate psu for pc setup and with my setup all 3 sites says recommended psu 400-500W. Yet everyone says RX 7600 requires 550W psu are those psu calculating sites not accurate?

It's accurate enough, but ppl love to have some breathing room, when i buy PSU tho, i would have bought more watt PSU, because like PSU is a stuff we buy once only for every 10years

So 500w psu will be enough for R5 3600 and RX 7600 ?

depends more on brand/model than labeled wattage

the diablotek 1050w, not even close to good enough

dont use psu calc sites

cpu x2 + gpu +100 for mobo/ram/drives/fans etc.. +100 or more for overhead

and more to keep the psu under 75% load so its more efficient and runs cooler

you cant really go by what amd/nvidia say, since they dont know what cpu its paired with
a pentium g or amd a cpu is much less than threadripper or i9
and older gpus will say much less, since those era cpus were ~100w peak, not like newer ones that can go well over that

Gpu can pull about 165w

So need cpu power + some for extra stuff. For intel cpus need to look up the turbo power the listed power draw is probably for base clock not turbo.

See if psu +12v rail actually pulls the amount listed. Like a 500w psu might only be 330w on the 12v rail. 12v times the amps on the 12v rail. 12v x 50A = 600w for example

Sometimes you can get higher power power supplies cheaper than lower power ones or for about the same price. Check pcpartpicker and there might be sales eventually.

Cpu model?

So 500w psu will be enough for R5 3600 and RX 7600 ?
Just buy 850watt bro, it's the sweet spot, just in case you upgrade something in the future, 550watt to 850watt is not heaven and earth price, and you only buy once

The problem is i already have 500W psu so thats why i was wondering if 7600 will run fine with my psu.
psu model?

psu from a brand name pc like dell, hp, etc... might have proprietary connectors vs a normal psu.

For a ryzen 5 3600 + a rx 7600 500w will be fine.

165w for the gpu
65w for the cpu

230 watts total at max power draw then some for other stuff. Should be fine if you are looking to use your old 500w psu.

Some people would say it's enough but I would say get 650w, that's just my own comfort zone though.
Monk 11 Jun @ 2:55am
People really need to buy a power meter (they cost about £10 from amazon) and get a clue as to how much power their systems actually use.

OP 500w more than covers you, you'll use maybe 300w.

So your comfort zone is over double what you need?

The OP has a 500w psu, advising them to spend money for no benefit is just wrong especially when it clearly not based on any real metric.

I've had 500 and 550 with a similar setup and they both blew up. Sorry my opinion based on personal experience offends you. Most people aren't electronics experts, they just want something that works and doesn't blow up.

Also I only read the first post and shared an opinion based on that. Looking at the store I use, they don't even stock anything lower than 650w 80+ gold

Not seeing the 500w but there's a 550w. The +12v for that is 12v X 45.8 A = 549.6 Watts so ~550 Watts which would be way more than enough. Even 500 watts ( ~ 41.6 A) on the +12v is more than enough.

During gaming you might never pull the full load your pc can do. Having the cpu and gpu at max power draw isn't common during gaming. Even if it did your psu can handle it easily.

Having an extra, 150w over already having 200w of headroom would not of saved them, they were either cheap and didn't provide the rated power, you had a surge or just got very unlucky.

If the OP was building new, sure, advising a bit more never hurts and doesn't cost much extra, but, they have, by all given information, a good working psu, so telling people to spend money for no reason is bad advice.

I am just fed up of people trying to get others to waste money on this forum and it seems like it has gotten worse of late.

the evga 500w gold psu is probably fine

way better than the thermaltake 500w smart white, those will just explode on their own

You can argue that it was lack of experience that made you buy such crappy PSU's.
