Depends on the game a bit. But overall, still no. That is, for gaming exclusively.

What is a lot is the 3D Cache in the X3D models. They're the only real gaming upgrades on AM4 still left from a 5600X if you have one such. There's bottlenecks in every system. They can shift from game to game, even from scenario to scenario within a game. You can't avoid them. Eventually, one component is gonna hold back the other.
Also wow...BestBuy still has these in stock.
Edit Add: MicroCenter has 6 of these in stock. Did Nvidia restart 3060 production since the 50 series were a flop?
if hes using a 1080p60 or lower res/refresh display, then 3060-4060 would be fine
if its multiple 4k240hz in surround/eyefinity, a 5090ti will not be enough
but high refresh will be limited by the cpu if paired with a more capable gpu
there is always a bottleneck
easy test to see if its cpu or gpu bound is to look at gpu load, if its not at 90+% then the cpu is likely holding it back, lower res or visual settings, if fps does not go up then its the cpu
or raise visual settings or res, and gpu load will climb, and fps should not go down
4090 or 5080 are stupid. Else it depends a bit. There's heavily CPU bound games such as BG3. And then there's your Cyberpunks with heavy raytracing if you wanted that enabled, and the 3060, 4060 calibre doesn't have much oomph for that even at 1080p. This is German, but the table at 10:50 shouln't need any knowledge -- in the scenario the 5600 is enough for 60fps, a 3060, 4060 and even 3060 Ti, 4060ti though aren't.

Indiana Jones too lists a Ryzen 3600 + RTX 4070 as the minimum requirement for the optional FULL raytracing experience, and that's for 1080p, upscaled. As I don't play that many games like that, I don't care though. Can't speak for the OP though.
PS: I'd now wait for the release and reviews of the RX 9060 XT too.
I share your opinion; it's DUMB to use a $100 CPU with a $1500 graphics card.
If you can't afford a $350 CPU, then you can't afford a $1500 GPU or higher.
So it makes sense to buy a GPU for $450 or less (450 for a 5060ti 8G), even a used one. Even if it's overkill for the processor, it's a good deal.
and YES, i want to see the review of the 9060XT too. and i hope i can buy one on day one
If you can't grasp the fact that we are heavily GPU bound in almost every scenario then refrain from spreading misinformation. This forum can't seriously be trusted for the most trivial bits of information
Dude, you're out of your F mind???
you have to be that stupid? seriously
you going to pair a 4090, a GPU that cost 2700 NEW, witha CPU that cost 120 bucks???
whats wrong with you?
if you cant buy a 300 CPU, then you cant buy a 4090!
now, if some good samaritan gives you a 4090, then YES, you can pair that CPU and THAT GPU
Edit; depending on choice and your current system you may have to factor in a psu, check that.
