help with gpu just upgraded.
i just upgraded from 3080 to 5080 and i'm getting the exact same frames on 4k with same settings my gpu usage is around 60-80% what should i check?

i9-10900k i think its enough for 4k isnt it
i just checked stellar blade demo and i was getting literally 100 fps where my 3080 couldnt even keep up to 60 on native 4k maxed

Seems like a bottleneck if you only see 60-80% use.

How many nvme drives do you have plugged in also as you might be starving the gpu of bandwidth holding it back too.

Overall, it's time to upgrade your cpu, memory and mobo.
well its only doing that with the first descendant

It means on that game the GPU can do more frames than the CPU can handle, most games will be GPU limited at 4K max settings but you will find some that are the other way around.

I have a 9800X3D and I'm pretty much always CPU limited when pushing for max FPS but I am gaming at 1440P on a 5090.

5080 is a beast though and will push the best CPU's in the right circumstance.

i do understand that but the thing is im getting even lower frames in some places than my 3080 had...

Have you re installed the drivers see if that helps, how much lower are we talking if it's a small % maybe the 5080 has a higher driver overhead, I don't know if that's tested anywhere.

I'll ask again, how many nvme drives, are you running, the 5080 needs more bandwidth than the 3080, it shouldn't cause lower fps than the 3080,but, when trying to find the problem it's best to eliminate everything.

Have you also checked thst the game hasn't increased the settings /raytracing mode in the first descendant?
Dam I didn't know the spec of that chip never used an Intel 10th gen, 16 PCIe lanes on PCIe3.0.

Yep save for a newer CPU/MOBO/RAM, mine has 24 lanes at PCIe5.0 for example, 16 for the GPU then 8 left for 2 M.2 drives at 4x each, it actually has 28 lanes as 4 are reserved for the chipset.

i just got one nvme drive, and yeah i checked the settings even same settings and higher its being limited somewhere somehow cpu and gpu usage both are low, im trying cyberpunk rn and my god the difference is huge im getting more than double here and with the new mfg im getting 160 fps on 4k perf path tracing def issue with just that game

Yep, if they have 4 or 5 nvme's or even 1 on the wrong slot he could be down to 8x on the slot his gpu is in, which, would impact his performance, at 16x they would likely be fine.
i checked in cyberpunk without mfg , 3080 used to get 25~ on path tracing dlss perf here i get to low 50~ with the exact same setting so its def not getting bottlenecked

Yes it is.
