Games have started to crash - Are these gpu temps okay... ?
Hey!

For some reason in the past 48/72 hours a number of games have started to crash. I've never played any of these games before so I'm not sure if they're just unstable etc (Oblivion remake, Robocop, GoW, Cyberpunk). All three have crashed and given errors signifying that theres a problem with the GPU (Some say driver issue, some say it could be over heating gpu etc). I've reinstalled the older drivers etc and it's still crashing. The gpu temps using Afterburner say the gpu never gets above 72 at 100% use. I don't have ANY over clocks and nothing has changed with the system over the past few months.

So, i've run Furmark and the temps are: (Under 100% usage)
GPU temp 72c.
GPU Hotspot 94c
Vram temps sit around 54c.

I ran the furmark 10 times and no crashes or errors.

Do these seem okay?

The gpu is under a year old and im wondering if a complete reinstall is called for at this point.

update bios and drivers
(never use windows update for drivers)

Seems like they are in the normal range. It's a bit toasty, but I wouldn't worry about 94c on the hotspot. If that's what the temp reaches under full load, it should be fine.
Oblivion remastered crashes. If an area is the issue load a save at the start of the area and leave the area and renter it. If just a random crash just load up the game and keep going.

How are they crashing, is it in the sane way each time and how often, us it repeatable and when did you last do a full clean install?

There are hundreds of possible causes.

UE5 is fine, never had any more issues with it than any other engine.

download hwinfo64 and monitor all your temps, cpu, memory, gpu, memory % use, gpu %, and cpu %.
There is an issue with "Robocop" on newer PC's and there are a few solutions (the game runs fine on older systems).

ReBAR has been an issue for many people and LLC is way too high on EVERY default PC. :badluck:

Is your GPU driver newer than 566.36? That can potentially be a problem and reverting to that driver seem to help some people.
Hopefully it's not the CPU. Asrock made a mistake with their BIOS and fluctuating voltage that could damage CPUs. Especially 3D ones. The issue seems to be rare but updating your BIOS is highly recommended.

...Thank you SO much! This has seemed to have worked!!

I did rewind back the drivers to the last set of drivers (late may) and then back to March but didn't go back as far as 566! That's so so strange. I check weekly for drivers etc and have been using them with no issue.. I wonder why, all of a sudden, this has happened?!?!

Either way once again ty!!!
