I have, many games it works fine.
The ones it won't tend to have optional stupidly high texture packs you can download or if you use a bunch of mods.
This idea that 8FB is suddenly not enough vram is daft and not based in reality, it seems to of come from a bunch of click bait youtube videos being anything but sensible and honest with settings.
I've gone into this too many times with other people, but given that the vast overwhelming majority of gpu's in use have 8GB of less vram and the most likely most bought gpu in a years time will also still have 8GB vram should tell you something.
You clearly have either not tried an 8GB card or have no idea what to do in the settings menu of games.
Your biggest bottleneck will likely be the 8GBs of vram.
More pixels on screen = more vram required
