So I've been dealing with some crashing on certain games recently...
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion: Remastered
Peak

and very rarely Guilty Gear Strive.

I do not know why as I have a pretty beast build... I'm not tech-savvy all that much so my PC knowledge is rather limited. Either way I was hoping that someone might be able to give me some kind of an answer because so far I've been chocking it up to poor optimization and just games being Early Access.

My Specs
CPU: Ryzen 7 9800x3d
GPU: ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 32GB (Drivers up to Date)
Ram: G Skill Trident Z5 RGB 6400mz 32GBx2
Motherboard: ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WIFI
OS: Windows 11 Pro (Up to Date)
Storage: Several M.2's ranging from 1TB to 4TB all Western Digital.
Cooling: Artic Liquid Freezer III 360* RGB AIO

I hope this is sufficient information of my specs. Please I spent a lot of money on my first gaming PC and I just want to enjoy gaming. :(

My RTX 5090 fans stopped working randomly, is that normal that they just stop moving?
Don't use Sys Info just use CPU-Z and click Validate > tick Extreme OC box (so it puts a cpu load before submission) and click Submit. Then copy + paste that web URL into here to share the text info.

GPU fans at 0 RPMs under approx 60-65*C is normal on most GPUs for the past 10 years or so. You can just manually adjust them with an app like MSI Afterburner if you so choose. Or apply a global fan curve to your GPU.

Do you know how to update BIOS? It's pretty easy, You need a USB stick drive, and you can use the EZ flash system after booting into your bios. Read the instructions.. watch a youtube vid on your board.

There is new firmware, BIOS and chipset for that board. There have been 13 BIOS updates for that board. Install the firmware update, then the bios, then reinstall the chipset. But serriously, Read the manual and watch a video about it first if you have never done this. But with EZ flash, it's super simple. Just don't turn off the comp, don't touch the keyboard, just let it run and reboot, and eventually it will boot to the BIOS. there you can save it as default and reboot the system.

EDIT, also don't forget to format the USB stick to fat 16/32, first

Someone more familiar to AMD, can help you set up the things inside the BIOS that might need tweaking afterwards, but going with default at first doesn't hurt.

No clue why people don't update their BIOS when it fixes a LOT of issues.

That said, Oblivion Remastered is a bad game that crashes on other systems independent of hardware. Software like overlays can crash it -- literally anything can; it's another bad UE game.

using Core Temp and it's sitting around min. 44c and max 45c as the fans are off.

Oh forgot to mention I have an Artic Liquid Freezer III 360* RGB AIO.

.

New to PC gaming, or just don't know a lot about comps, Or scared they are going to brick their computer. Something that was a lot easier to do in the past. Now it's super easy with a stick.

I don't know how to update BIOS I assumed when one buys a new MB it would be up to date.

It's not.. You basically have the launch version of the board. It's been updated, but only by a couple of days.. Check the link.

watch this video.. then come back and ask questions. Its about asus EZ flash, all the asus boards use the same flash.. Don't forget to run the CAB updater, it auto names the flash file. You need to put that file in the main directory, aka not in a folder, just in the main USB drive letter place, or you can have wonky things happen.

also if you can't boot into bios, Sometimes it can be super hard. The best way to get into it, is to pull out the battery on the board and leave it out for like 30 seconds. Put it back, that will reset the bios, you will boot into bios and then you can navigate to the EZ flash. It's super easy.. and it should fix your comps issues.

also you might need to run the firmware update first, Read the asus site to make sure you are doing things in the right order, Because that matters!

ASUS LEGO IT8857GX V0203 Firmware Update Tool Run this file from windows first. Shut down all other things, steam, and what ever is running from your pop up menu on the right side of the screen, id even shut down my virus scanner

Then extract the bios onto the hard drive, then run the BIOS renamer.exe. It will change the name to a .CAP put that file on the stick drive, and then goto bios and run the ez flash. But this guy should tell youn all this stuff.

GOOD LUCK!

Modern Mobo should not need you to use a uab flash drive. Should be able to extract the bios update contents to C Drive root and have the bios see the update from your OS drive

Oblivion remastered crashes. Ignore it. Maybe don't use enchanted weapons - effect might cause some crashes? Also keep your game world clean. Pick up loot and put in on bodies (press f?)or sell it. Don't have large amounts of stored items. Fuzzui and some other mods need to be updated or they crash during certain activities. Will still occasionally crash but maybe not as much. If you are at 100 archery shooting a paralysed enemy and applying the paralyse perk again will crash the game.

Any overclocks other than ram?
