32GB@7200mhz/34CL w/ 9800x3d an improper set up?
running just fine . . . never had a single post isue because of it . . .

but am reading things saying something about "infinity fabric" and "1:1" vs "2:3"
and things about how its "not stable", but ive had no issues with this ram

am i losing performance, missing performance or leaving performance on the table vs 32GB@28CL/6000mhz?

am interested in upgrading to 64GB or more with RGB so am trying to find/buy the ultimate/perfect RAM for my SFF PC

thank you :)

You're fine. You have nice RAM and a nice CPU. And you don't have any issues, and your performance stacks up/seems satisfactory?

Sometimes when your system is running fine, everything is stable and you're getting the expected performance, no amount of purist caterwauling and fussing will change that. Believe the evidence of your eyes, not the exaggerations of malcontents obsessed with variations in the margins.

Half of them will never run a system so nice, and the only thing they can do with better systems is nitpick. And the other half are just insufferable.

But hey, if someone can demonstrate the fractions of a percent difference 32GB@28CL/6000mhz provides, let's see it.

real af
all im reading really is just opinion i guess unless i see real world evidence ill just stick with what ive got. ram is cheap tho nowadays but still, i see your point.

just wanted some opinions, maybe some evidence proving me either wrong or right

at the very least, thanks for some peace of mind fellow steam user :)

You can't run RAM, MCU and Infinity fabric in 1:1:1 ratio at these speeds and it is not a problem.

Imo overkill since unlike intel AMD sees little benefit from better ram kits. If they did then the necessity of 3d vcache would have been obsolete. That's why you intel advertise their CPU lineup with strategy games where AMD despite having massive l3$ fails

But if it works and you are happy with the result then enjoy

what does this mean?

the friend i originally had build my first pc last year paired this 7200mhz/cl32 ram with a 7600x.

ive since upgraded to a 9800x3d and a larger/newer gpu and recently learned about cas latency and ram speeds and how there's better/worse ram to pair with certain cpus

so am trying to learn the optimal ram speeds, cas latency speeds to run with this cpu and am trying to see if what ive got (even though it works just fine), ive nothing to compare it to as this is the only ram ive used with this cpu
