RYZEN 7 7800x3D low cinebench R23 score
Hi, Just bought new procesor and I have a problem.
GPU: RTX 4070 12gb
CPU: RYZEN 7 7800x3D
Motherboard: MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS
BIOS Version: 3.7 (11.12.2024)
RAM: GoodRam IRDM, DDR5, 32 GB, 6000MHz, CL30
PSU: Endorfy Vero L5 Bronze 700W
Case: Endorfy Signum 300 ARGB
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 PRO
GPU Drivers: GEFORCE GAME READY DRIVER - v576.88
Chipset Drivers: AMD B550 CHIPSET DRIVERS VERSION 2.10.13.408
Background Applications: DISCORD, firfox, HWMonitor
Description of Original Problem: I got realy low scor on multi core cinebench R23. I see other ppl got scores around 17k and Im geting only 12760p. I got EXPO I enabled, PBO enabled, X3D enabled. Max temp while runing test is 76c with 240 AIO
Troubleshooting: not done yet
Should I get refund or Im mising something?

Just saying.. X3D Gaming mode is completely useless for 7800X3D and 9800X3D owners as it does disable SMT so you have effectively 8 threads

Go to your BIOS and disable "X3D Gaming Mode" in there

So yea, what you're telling me is you didn't even check the CPU in Task Manager or CPU-Z?

It was meant more for those X3D CPUs with 2 CCDs
on the 7900X3D/7950X3D/9900X3D and 9950X3D. the 3D cache is connected only for 1 CCD
So what it does it turns off the second CCD and makes the 9950X3D to behave just like the 9800X3D. it also turns off SMT (AMD's version of Hyper-threading) to reduce latency

The benefit from it applies to a really specific niche audience and most people will be better off running their X3D CPUs as is.

Ok I made it too 18k and here is how "For Those Who Come After" So first of all I changed in BIOS X3D gaming mode and disabled it ,Thank you for this advise. Second one what I changed is power mode in win 11 to balanced and it clicked. Im surprised those 2 options made so much dif.

Oh yea the dual ccd crap. Yeah thats not even a setting 7800x3d or 9800x3d should see. In bios imho it should be greyed out stating OFF.


Additionally balanced power vs highest. Was that not a dual ccd thing too? Why would a 7800x3d not be on highest setting for power? In the older chips not using full power and using power optimizations in bios like EIST would cause worse latency/frametime/lows it was always best to disable power optiomzations. So why is he running balanced?

I haven't messed much with Windows power plan on my 7800X3D as I don't know much about that one. kept the default (balanced) and playing all my games with it

-Install the AMD chipset drivers

So far I haven't noticed any weirdness or anything with frame times being unstable

So far I haven't noticed any weirdness or anything with frame times being unstable

It had an effect on system latency too with latencymon to get the best lowest latency you used to need to disable all forms of power optimizations and keep power to high performance. I do this as i never let my pc idle it is for games and thus if idling shut it down there is no need for power optimizations imho.

I'm going to assume that the X3D game mode is motherboard specific as I cannot find it in my bios for my ASROCK Steel Legend x670e.

I'm not sure that chinese power supply is actually rated 80 bronze or outputs 700 watts.

If the PSU was an issue the PC would most likely be locking up or auto rebooting

They're Polish not Chinese as well. Which means they have to follow EU safety rules so it's probably much safer than an American made one.

I don't think my current bios has it as it's still from march of last year. No reason to update it, really.
