As for password managers, I've always use Keepass. It doesn't sync, but that's a point in it's favor, since network syncing is sheer laziness, and another unnecessary security risk vector.

Just think about what will happen if you stop using a samsung phone. You lose access to that password manager. Microsoft Authenticator just stopped it's password manager and you'd have to use MS Edge browser.
Plenty of other applications incorperate a password manager, Some AV, VPN, Browsers. If you stop using them you lose access.
I'd recommend a standalone because you are not tied to a specific brand for other stuff, like above. Tied to the password but not a browser, etc
I use Keepass, freeware. Has apps for desktop and mobile. Can use a version that has cloud backup/sync or you can keep a purely offline version that will require you to manually sync between devices.
