I need a new browser
I don’t actually need a new browser.

But if i was to go away from the pure genius that is Brave browser. I think I’d go to Librawolf.

If you want an actually new browser instead of one that's a reskin of a fork of a fork of a browser from the '90s, I think the only real options are Servo and Ladybird.
Brave is 100% junk. It can't even do video playback on YT or most sites properly with being a sluggish FPS

Use Firefox and a proper working ad guard and blocker script. I even have a proper ad guard on Chrome. No ads on YouTube or Twitch

Brave uses Chromium. Even degoogled, it's not to be trusted.

Librewolf is good.

disable graphics acceleration if you have an Nvidia gpu

Librewolf is good.

So does Steam Client. That does not make it as good as Chrone or Edge

No never tbat makes it run off the CPU which would make all video playback and website animations even more sluggish. It only does this crap in Brave. All other browsers don't do it

Sounds like you had it configured wrong. I've been using Brave for years and never noticed that as an issue.

Go and compared video playback @ 1080p or higher in Brave on a place like YouTube; compare to Chrome, Edge, Firefox. Brave is terrible for this purpose.

Brave seems more decent when it comes to a Mobile web browser option though; not so much on WinOS

Incorrect, I have it disabled on my system, YT videos and website animations play fine. Upgrade your potato.
They play fine and super smooth, off the CPU, running at 4K or 8K?
OK boomer.

So why does Edge and Chrome play them fine and super smooth but never Brave?

I actually have zero issues with brave, no logging a forced do not track on every website, no adverts anywhere at all.

Bro what? Then you never used it in your life.

Checks for updates in Brave, oh would you look at that...

Brave is up to date
Brave 1.80.115 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Chromium: 138.0.7204.97

Steam Client, Rockstar Launcher, Brave, Edge, Chrome and Opera GX to name a few ALL use Chromium
