I never used the Viper but the DA v3 is good. It works best when you plug n play the mouse has no need for drivers or bloat. When you plug n play it polls at 1000hz native and the button controls the dpi. So really its a software free gaming mouse which is great. Repeat that with all your peripherals and you got a bloat free system.

I use mine at 1600dpi which is the blue led or third dpi step. I seen a study someone did with crazy equipment and 1600 offers a nice latency where as you are worse off with 400 and 800 dpi but not really getting much better at 6400dpi+ so 1600dpi is the sweet spot.
