RTX 5050 is pure junk.
Honestly I'd look at ones with a modern or latest Ryzen CPU + RTX 4060 or better GPU.
1TB SSD and 16GB RAM is a must for a gaming minimum
An AtomMan G7 PT is the answer.
If not, flip the coin.
Yeah, I live in a tiny 1 room Tokyo apartment which doesn’t have much desk space unfortunately.
GPU can't, unless you get something like a Framework, or something with a Thunderbolt port that can use an eGPU.
The hardware here is out of line. With all the stuff they throw out on the market, components are missing...
It's quite expensive in Japan actually.
and notebook gpus of same name/core are even weaker with the laptops power restrictions
imho, get one with a xx70 or better, or just build a desktop for half the price
and get a cheap laptop for on the go, and use remote play to game on it
I would strongly urge you to consider a small form factor PC build, (mini/micro ATX). Will not only be more powerfull then your average 'gaming notebook' but doesn't take up much space and is upgradeable.
If you have room for a gaming notebook you have room for a small 21inch monitor aswell, hell you can get even get flat mini PC cases where you can put the monitor on top if space is really that limited.
I would never get a gaming laptop, not worth the price and they age horribly.
Laptops that are marketed as "gaming laptops" are usually overpriced, but a high power laptop that is suitable for gaming can be worth it if you have the disposable income. Companies like Framework that are working on making laptops modular and repairable are worth supporting.
That said, micro-ATX cube cases really are very kawaii.

A good Ryzen APU for general onboard graphics and a Thunderbolt 5 expansion card for more intense stuff would have you set.
Though CPU fans keep getting bigger and bigger, such that you can barely fit one in a Mid-Tower nowadays. How well do AIO coolers work with mATX?
But knowing how ridiculously small some apartments in big cities like Tokyo, London or New York are, a portable laptop that can be used in bed or outside may actually be a better option even if more expensive and slower.

Soldered RAM is a bit of a bummer.
I love that company. I might get one just to use as a dedicated emu setup or Mame cabinet, but I was already planning on getting a Raspberry Pi 5 for that this Labor Day sale.
before finalizing laptop choices, check out highly reviewed small form factor micro atx pc prebuilds on youtube, even better if you want to build it yourself. you wont regret it next year, if you pick up a 4070 or 4080 now, rather then a 5050 laptop or 4060 laptop that cant play many aaa games well currently nevermind longevity. also consider 9070xt, its easier to get then a 4070-80.
get the best cpu you can keep cool given the small factor, amd is releasing budget 9000 series soon, but a 7600x3d would serve you well
AOC makes affordable monitors of decent quality, (us market got tariff on them but asia is fine)
yeah a 110 frames is so unplayable on a 4060 laptop running monster hunter.......SARCASM

because even the 5070 only got 8GB VRAM
