but if you don't wanna spend alot it's META's Quest 3 by a long shot.
the index and vive use sensor boxes you have to set up around a room, along side sensors on the headset. the quest just uses sensors built into the headset itself.
the quest 3 is surprisingly good for it's price though, and you don't need as much space as the index and vive. Also the quest 3 is technically it's own "console" type thing where you don't need a pc to run games on it.
it really is the tracking and screen resolution that are kinda lacking on it imo, but you can't beat the price
it's sorta like going from a really nice desk mounted racing wheel to a full racing set up.
Valve index: Two 1440×1600 LCD displays with full RGB per pixel, supporting refresh rates of 80 Hz, 90 Hz, 120 Hz, or 144 Hz
Vive Pro 2: Dual 2.5K LCD panels (2448 x 2448 pixels per eye, totaling 4896 x 2448) and a 120Hz refresh rate
The Quest 3 currently to my knowledge has the best Lenses out of all the current VR headsets.
