PSU problem
I'm almost done making a new computer. Everything is mostly fine.
I was looking at the motherboard book, looking for speaker pins for the post codes. I don't think there is any.

I was flipping the pages, looking for nothing at all, and i saw the installation page for the 2x 8-pin power connectors. It specifies to plug both. The PSU i got is not modular and does not have 2x 8-pin power connectors. When i installed the PSU and the motherboard, prior to getting the CPU, i noticed that... I went to Google, found a post on Reddit saying it works anyway.

Now i didn't try booting it yet. (Well turning it on). Should i just change the PSU?

EDIT: I remember an old picture on a picture sharing website. The guy bought a new GPU, his motherboard didn't have any PCI-E ports. So... He cut off the part which didn't fit.
I'll get a new PSU.

what mobo and psu exactly, brand/models

the 4+4 or 8 pin connectors are eps to the mobo near the cpu socket

the 6+2 are pic-e for gpu

eps and pci-e are not pinned the same
eps = 4 x+12v and 4x ground pins
pci-e = 3x 12v, and 3 or 5 ground pins

It'll work just fine without the second connector. That second EPS connector realistically shouldn't be on that motherboard, one 8 pin can already handle 400W relatively easily, and even a 7950X will struggle to pull more than 200W under full load since it gets impossible to cool above that power level. If you have 2 8 pin EPS cables to plug in and it's convenient to do so, yeah plug them both in, it can't hurt, but at the same time if you only have one the second one just isn't necessary.

I was looking around for information on those ESP connectors, found this. It says it can deliver 400 watt with just one of those. PSU is 550 watt.

I'm not sure if that's enough for my setup:
-RTX 5060 (145 W)
-Intel I7 14700k
-SSD x1
-32gb RAM
-Liquid cooling

*eps, not esp

yea, get a better psu that has 2x 4+4 or 8 pin eps connectors
550w is not enough for a modern gaming pc with dedicated gpu

650+w 80+gold or better

if you plan on using it for next build, or getting a better gpu in the future, get 850w with the 12v hpwr connector, costs about $30 more

What the difference between gold silver or bronze? I'll order that PSU now, but i'd like to know what to get.

Basically 650w and 2x 4pin connectors. Gold.

EDIT: Looking at this, what do you think?

I'll be trying the one i have now. I can't refund it and quite honeslty, i've put enough money on this machine already. Neighbor is agitated, i'll try it tomorow.
as the others have probably mentioned
never cheap out on PSUs

also i5 is more than enough for a 5060
then you can have a 650W PSU

gold is more efficient
takes a much newer design to hold 80+ gold rating
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/80_Plus

80+ gold has been the standard for around 10 years

if you are going at around the $125 range
bequiet 850w pp12m is a great choice

Buying a good PSU is a good investment, don't cheap out, that's the most important thing. I bought my PCP&C Silencer almost 20 years ago and it's still working perfectly, and providing more than enough power.

Too late!
It's up and running. I'll just check with a videogame soon. I'm still fixing drivers and stuffs. Multiple ones.

It was Amazon's recomended. I'm not actually worried.

So.

Installed and booted. One case fan isn't turning, not sure why.

Temperatures are fine but i did underclock it to 80% See about that later. Doesn't shutdown, tried:
-Enshrouded
-Cyberpunk 2077
-Witcher 3

Looking to try Dragon Age: Veilguard.

Something weird though, Horizon Zero Dawn is getting me heat spikes at 90. Somewhat sustained. I guess i just won't play that game. It's strange though, it used to be one of my cooler games.

Funs!

the board does have alot of wpm fan headers, check all their profiles in bios
You will meet issue with ram if you buy 5000 GC series and 650 watts only.
