Is this setup any good?
Hi folks,

Just selected all parts for my new rig and wanted to check if maybe some of the parts should better be awapped into an alternative?

Well, what is your usecase? What do you want it to do?

Was the Ram the only white one? I'd think in general you should go with atleast 6000Mhz with tighter timings. CL30 or something.

Did you check that your tower supports your GPU length wise?

Usecase is 'finally playing in more than 10 fps'... ^^

The tower should support it, yes. Thx for the tip about RAM, but the only otpion I currently have then is:

64 GB Corsair DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB DDR5 5600 MHz CL40 (2 x 32 GB) KIT - WIT

64GB is massively overkill for gaming. 32GB is plenty.

The RAM also has poor performance. Look for a 6000Mhz 30CL kit or better.

Drop the SATA SSD, get a larger M.2 drive instead.
I would swap the RAM to 6000 Mhz CL 30 and motherboard to B850.

The tower should support it, yes. Thx for the tip about RAM, will grab this instead:

32 GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz CL40 (2 x 16GB) KIT

Just had a look regarding the AiO. Couldn't realy find any reviews but this seems to be in the category of cheap AiOs.

For a 9800x3d I would absolutely advice against skimping out on its cooling.

Edit: Just saw you downgraded your choice again to 5600Mhz CL40. Are those slow Rams your only option or are you on a certain budget or something?

Like Omega said. For Gaming 32Gb would be plenty. Then rather go for faster 32Gb instead of slower 64Gb.

Got it all, thx. Updated list once more.

Edit: Yeah, trying to stay below 4k (euro), 3.9k for now ^^

Edit2: Do I still have use with 3 extra fans if the newly chosen cooler comes with 3?

I'm personaly no fan of the 5080. It's a good gpu but in most countries too expensive for its performance and especially its Vram.
The 5070ti / 9070XT are often better options from my POV.
If you have the money anyways then of course take the 5080. It's 10-15% faster for generaly 30% more money.
If you run 4k and are not interestet in Ray-Tracing the 7900XTX might even be in the run although I don't think it gets sold anymore.

Aight, 5070ti is 400 bucks cheaper, enough for an OLED curved. =)

Double check if you really need the Gen 5 SSD, as Gen 4 already offers excellent performance for gaming. Consider if the B850 motherboard meets your long-term needs or if an X870 board might be better for future upgrades. Also make sure the RTX 5070 Ti is powerful enough for your monitor if you're aiming for ultra settings at high refresh rates.

Got it, thx. X870 or X870E, what's the difference? o.0

https://www.guru3d.com/story/comparing-amd-x870e-and-x870-chipset-motherboards-for-ryzen-9000-series/

For your purposes those differences are irrelevant.

Edit:
I did a little bit of reading into the Lane distribution for your board it's not optimal but fine,
it's also not white but rather a light grey and apparently there are a few minor issues with that motherboard that were never resolved.

You can read into it here so you got some solutions once you encounter them.

The main difference is that X870E has PCIe Gen 5 support for both GPU and SSD, while X870 usually has Gen 5 only for SSD. X870E also tends to have stronger power delivery and more high-end features for overclocking or future GPUs.

Screw the monitor, after a month or two I go back to my TV anyway.

Thanks a lot guys <3
Have a nice Sunday evening/afternoon.
